You should never give rabbits baths, so he is rightfully terrified of them. No rabbits should get baths, unless for medical purposes, and even in those cases, it is not a “bath” but a shallow water pan of some sort in small target areas.
Your rabbit will do a good job cleaning up the stains himself, so you don’t need to worry! If you do feel…[Read more]

Any flooring you don’t want chewed needs to be pretty flush with the floor and walls (end to end). If it’s in an enclosure, the flooring can’t be pickable at the corners/borders, and if it’s a room, it needs to go wall to wall with no gaps.
When push comes to shove, eventually a rabbit will walk on slippery floors if given no other option. If you…[Read more]

Wick oh no!! Glad it turned out alright. Yeah, maybe it depends on how resistant the issue is to the penicillin. Thanks for the info!
DanaNM Aw that’s good they don’t really mind it. Yeah I’d probably need some practice first lol. And yeah just talking about it just in case I have to do it. :/ Thank you!

Quincy is now trying to tear apart the mat that I gave her AND chew the edges of the vinyl when I let her out so I definitely don’t see this setup working long term.

I’m interested in hearing what flooring everyone uses for their buns, both in their “cages”/enclosures, and outside of it where they exercise or free roam.
My situation right now is that I have carpet in the bunny room, and have always used a rug for their enclosure area. However I just bought some sheet vinyl and laid it down and the bunni…[Read more]

Well maybe sending him to a professional trainer might be the thing to do then. Are they planning to get him neutered? That might help him calm down a bit too (although I can’t say that I noticed much of a difference in behavior with Otis after his neuter). Was Cali trained by someone else?

My bunny’s front paws are stained with pee 😓. I’m not too concerned about the staining because I’m sure it’ll grow out once he starts shedding fur, but I do want to make sure it’s clean. He’s absolutely terrified of baths so thats a big no. Do I just wipe his paws with a wet towel then?

Just an update on Sebastian:
He’s doing so much better! Definitely on the road to recovery. He’s eating, drinking, and eating his hay like he used to. He’s taking his treats as well. One tell-tale sign that I know that he’s feeling better is that he’s fighting us to take his meds! On the day we got home, he took them with no problem. Now, he’s…[Read more]

Thank you guys! I hope I don’t sound too dumb lol. It just seems like it’s the #1 brand for pellets for a lot of people. I’ll look at the link you posted. Thank you. 🙂

I don’t know if they are the “healthiest”, but they are a better quality pellet. They a pretty popular around here too.

I’m not familiar with the Martin brand, but Oxbow adult essentials is a very good food, definitely “tried and tested” by many here on the forum. If you find in your elimination diet that the pellets you are currently feeding seem to be the problem, then it might be worth trying a different brand, such as Oxbow.

Are the Oxbow Essentials Adult rabbit pellets supposed to be the healthiest pellets? I’ve been thinking about switching to it from the Martin Timothy Adult rabbit food. The Martin ones are very small (scared of them choking, I spread them out on the floor) and I think I’ve been told the Oxbow ones are healthier. I found a Canadian site that sel…[Read more]
