She looks beautiful! She must’ve been so, so soft.
How lucky she was to have all that love in her life. 💗 You paint a lovely picture of her with your words. She was clearly free to express her true personality, full of sass and sweetness!
(I may have been a bit unclear in my previous post, what I meant about why we post in the RB-section was in…[Read more]

It is extremely difficult to provide information on healthy weight online. There are weight estimations based on breed, we never really know what combo of breeds are in our rabbits that will make them stray/adhere to those estimates. Also, 4mo is really in the prime of growing, so it’s hard to tell.
Here is a diagram that can be helpful for a…[Read more]

This is tough. A part of me says, well, if it’s dry and your rabbits aren’t intimately licking the tiles day in and out, it’s probably fine. That being said, maybe there are fumes that they can smell that we can’t, and is there any potential consequences to walking on it daily, in terms of adverse contact reactions.
I recommend talking to a rabbit vet.

So my rabbit is a Satin Angora that is about a year and 2 months old. She has been having flaky skin on her ears and in between them for months. In December I took her to the vet, they didn’t see any mites on her at all under the scope. They scrapped the skin of all areas and did a full exam and did not find any signs of mites besides the flaky…[Read more]

1. I can barely afford the surgery and exam, should I go for bloodwork and X-Rays as well just to make sure he has a clean bill of health?
- Unsure of your finances, but you can ask local rabbit rescues if they know of especially low-cost places for neutering/spaying. Typically, rescues go there because of their funds. Also, if it’s a place t…

Great way to remember her. I will keep you in my prayers so that you begin the road to recovery from this loss. Pets are a blessing to us, they innocent love is a reminder from God that we are never going to be alone whether on this world or when we cross to the other side. They will be waiting for us at the rainbow bridge.

Of all the souls I’ve known, she was easily the most pure and loving. I’ve suffered with suicidal depression since before I was even a teenager, I’m nearly 40 now. When the world felt like too much I would cuddle her and just cry into her velvet fur. She always responded with kisses. Her tooth purrs as I stroked her cheeks made me feel like I…[Read more]

It is a fun thread! My bun often jumps into my lap to energetically chin my hands and face, but he doesnt settle down for pets. For pets, he prefers to lie next to me on the sofa.

Hello:)
I’m still new to bunnies and I’m confused about the weight. I just don’t want my bunny to overfeed or give him too little.
She is a 4 months old dwarf rabbit. (I hope I said it right, she is just like a lop rabbit, not too small not too big)
She is now 1kg. Is it okay? How much should she weight at full age?
I tried to feel her ribs…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic Syringe size for critical care in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 7 months ago
The most important features of a good feeding syringe is the size (diameter and lenght) of the tip.
The problem with many syringes is that the tip is tiny and narrow. This is common with 2.5 and 5 ml syringes. With a 1 ml syringe, you can often saw off the tip with a serrated bread knife, and fit the whole diameter of the syringe into the bun’s…[Read more]

Obviously I don’t have personal experience with vets in the area (I’m in Australia! ) but I have over the years, learnt where to look for recommendations from owners.
If you havent already, I suggest you research Dr Daniel Foreman at Spring Creek Animal Hospital in Jackson, Wy. He was recommended on an old email list of bunny owners. I look…[Read more]

Hi wmiller! This is a VERY old thread. We encourage people not to respond to old threads because it can cause confusion, especially if someone is looking for help. Since this thread is more “fun”, I’m going to leave it open for now. It’s great that your bunny willingly got into your lap. Most people aren’t so lucky. 😉

Borya02 started the topic Syringe size for critical care in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 7 months ago
Hi folks – I wanted to get some critical care for my bun to have on hand. I have seen similar threads asking this question but was still unsure. What size syringe is best for feeding a medium sized rabbit? I saw some responses saying that smaller syringes aren’t good because it’ll gunk up. Is there any consensus on an optimal size? I won’t easily…[Read more]

Hi everyone,
So I recently built a larger cage for the buns using C&C and their old run (they are housebuns so also roam around the house). I put down these beautiful vinyl tiles on the correx and unfortunately since moving the bunnies in, I found that Peri has been slipping a lot on the tiles (she does not have as much foot fur). I was…[Read more]

I’m prone to making posts longer than necessary so I apologize in advance.
I scheduled the operation for Gus at the end of February so he can get a wifebun and hopefully have a better quality of life. He is my first ever rabbit and I have already made some mistakes, I’m trying to not make any more, which is why I joined.
1. I can barely afford…[Read more]

I joined some NY rabbit groups on Facebook and was able to meet other owners. They told me their vet recommendations and experiences. Maybe you could try that? Or you could try asking rabbit rescues in your area for recommendations.
