Ya, I have wanted another bunny to put with Nala for a long time now. She seems to only like other animals and isn’t the biggest fan of humans. I think I will be able to change their minds so hopefully that will help. I will definitely try to find some DIYs to keep my bun busy.

Interesting and seems accurate! Mine both definitely are eating/ drinking/ and subsequently going to the bathroom more so I’m glad they aren’t the opposite. It’s funny you mention hormones because I have said they are acting like they have spring fever. Generally “odd” moods (sometimes grumpy), and my male has been trying to mount the female…[Read more]

Good luck with trying tunnels and other things! There are lots of DIY ideas online and YouTube.
That’s a tough one, the reason I got 2 was because after reading so much about how they are happier in pairs (when I got mine I had no idea how social they were), I felt determined to make it happen. If you’re living with parents they’d really need to…[Read more]

Some buns go off their food or become very grumpy while moulting. It seems pretty clear that moulting isn’t “just” about shedding hair. My guess is that there are various hormones at play (hormones does not necessarily mean sex hormones). Some sort of molecular signal probably triggers the molt, and whatever it is, it triggers other things as…[Read more]

Okay I will definitely try most of this. My bunny isn’t much of a chewer but she just has a major issue of peeing under my bed even though she is litter trained. She has a few random things I need to deal with but I definitely think this will help. Thank you

Okay I’ll try some different things. My rabbit isn’t to much of a chewer so I only have a few chew toys for her but I think she might love tunnels. I will definitely try some different things with her to try and keep her occupied. I have been trying to convince my family to let me get a buddy for my rabbit. Do you have any tips on trying to convince them?

Bam replied to the topic Homemade Rabbit Pellets in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 8 months ago
You could feed only a little bit of pellets, especially if your bun is on the plump side. 1 -2 tablespoons per day would be enough for a 4 pound bun, if she is willing to eat a good amount of hay.
Many of us use pellets as a “bunny multi vitamin tablet”, we only give enough to ensure the buns get everything they need. The best rabbit food is…[Read more]

Is it just me or mine, or do other rabbis seem to eat/ drink more when shedding? I’m guessing to flush out all the fur they are ingesting?

I got mine a friend, which did help but still seem bored part of the day since they aren’t the most playful with each other. When I had one, I found he didn’t like traditional toys. If I removed some of the stuff in his area, he liked it better because his favorite thing was/is zoomies and tunnels and he had more room. He just likes to jump on…[Read more]

Hi,
It’s probably on the link but I used a lot of wood boards from the hardware store to block baseboards and under things. I used wider planks to block off my bed, and attached with double sided mounting tape. It looks decent. I have wood planks along the baseboards, and either stuck smaller wood planks with the mounting tape on the door frames…[Read more]

I think a lot of folks like the Oxbow Garden Select if they are trying to stay away from certain ingredients. Oxbow adult essentials is very popular as well.
If you want to get into the weeds comparing brands, this chart shows most of the major brands and nutritional break…[Read more]

I’ve done some research and I think I’ll stick with pellets, I’ll just get off of the farming brands since Jumping Jack is overweight as is. I don’t need her eating a ton of molasses and grains and whatnot for meat and breeding rabbits.
I think the PetSmart in Bozeman sells Oxbow Garden Select pellets. I hear good things and have done some…[Read more]

NalaBunny replied to the topic quality online hay source? in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 8 months ago
For the last year, I have been buying Standlee hay. Their hay always is fresh, green, and smelt amazing. They are pretty decently priced and the only issue I’ve ever had is a tiny bit of dust but shaking the hay outside works to get rid of this. My rabbit always goes crazy for this hay, I recommend this brand.

I see! We did another bathtub session yesterday (1/25/21, about an hour) and I tried to be a bit more strict with the reverse mounting in case Theo realized and then bit Alfredo’s sensitive areas. There was still a lot of humping but less than the day before. Alfredo has started trying to groom Theo! Though Theo shows no desire to groom back…[Read more]

Another good flooring option could be puzzle play mats. These are waterproof and soft so they will prevent sore hocks. Im also from Montana and would love to become a vet too.

Do you make it in to Bozeman often? I believe the PetSmart there carries oxbow essentials which is kind of expensive, but since you’ll only feel like 1/4 cup per day it will last quite a while with one rabbit. I usually pay about $20 I think for a 10 lb bag and it lasts me over a month with 3 rabbits. If not you can order it or a variety of other…[Read more]
