@Bam hi there! I’m not too worried about the poops either tbh, I was just curious as to why it was happening haha! It’s good to know Sid isn’t the only bun that has a poop schedule!

I saw him throw his head back whilst eating around 4 times in the past 12 or so hours. He usually looks up whilst eating anyway to look around, but today he aggre…[Read more]

Wow that is a major move! My rabbits hate the car, but Elmer starts to relax if on my lap. A 5 day I think they would adapt (mine have been more adaptable to things than I have expected) but I’d be worried too since even 4 hour trip would be much different. Hopefully having fluids with you will prevent any dehydration. I’m sure you’ll make them…[Read more]

It might not stop until they are bonded, but might improve once the female is spayed. It’s very normal for un-bonded rabbits to mark a lot, and un-castrated rabbits around can definitely trigger marking in rabbits that otherwise have good litter box habits.

So recently I got my male Netherland dwarf a new friend, as they’re not bonded yet I have the cage split in half so they can socialize but not go after each other. I noticed the last time I had bonded him with a female (who sadly passed) he just stops peeing in his box. Which is so strange to me cause he’s typically super clean otherwise. He’…[Read more]

Thank you! If I got to Norway the buns won’t be coming with me, they’ll stay with my husband. But either way we are moving cross country in early March… I am not looking forward to traveling with 4 bunnies, a cat, and a gecko! I think we are going to have to rent a van and drive, but I’m really worried about how Bun Jovi (who is 12) will handle…[Read more]

You should wait until they are completely healed and their hormones have settled down before working to bond them. For healing, they should be in a restricted space for 2 weeks, small enough that they can’t run and with nothing to jump up on. It seems cruel, but the spay surgery is pretty invasive, and they can pull internal sutures if they run or…[Read more]

I’m not sure I’m following but Dana if moving good luck! I just did a few months ago and it was not a good experience. :0  If going to Norway are you bringing rabbits in the airplane?   Also very cool to have 2 pairs and maybe try a quad, I’d like to hear about that.  I may get a third, but I want to find out if I’ll be working from home past COV…[Read more]

I cant quite picture the head movement. He could perhaps still feel some discomfort from the ear mites?

An ear infection could be a possibility. I mean  rabbits can get them as you know, and shaking the head and scratching the ears (or one ear, more commonly) could be symptoms. Dental problems seem less likely due to his young age.

    Did he seem…[Read more]

    Hi everyone! I

‘m not super sure where this should go but I’m just going to put it here because bonding is what I’m most concerned about. My Mini Rexes, Sage and Chicory, are now nearing 7 months and are going to be spayed at the beginning of March. They got in a fight a few months back, probably hormone caused, and they’ve been living separately…[Read more]

Update: Throughout the day (within 8 hours ?) he threw his head back whilst eating 3 times – once when eating green leaves and twice whilst eating hay- but then started eating normally again. Now I’m wondering whether he has a minor problem with molar Spurs, since he is still eating everything… either that or he has an inner ear infection (he i…[Read more]

Hi, my bun is around 6 months old now, and maturing!
He has hay all day every day, along with greens around 3 times a day and pellets once a day. He has no issue eating the hay and poops quite a bit, but his poops have always been smaller than an average rabbits (around 5mm?). His poops have recently started to get bigger, then go back to his…[Read more]

As Hazel says, look over her diet first of all, just to rule out any type of deficiency. A bun should have hay available 24/7, about 2 tablespoons of good quality pellets and some leafy greens. Hay should be at least 80% of the diet.

My first thought would be a dental problem. The licking could be an effort to relieve pain in the mouth. Dental…[Read more]

That’s my sense too… I will be very surprised if they still allow me to come in an reasonable time frame (I can’t say I blame them)! They said the initial closure was for 2 weeks, but of course they can extend it, and who knows what that will mean for my pending residency permit.

The temps here in S CA have been all over the map. One week it’s…[Read more]

Baby-young rabbits will get along with any other rabbit since hormones are not actively coursing through them, so in terms of letting them become “friends” prior to spay/neutering, I would not try that, due to what has occurred and also that young rabbit relationships tend to evolve naturally once hormones are in, and this can sometimes be a…[Read more]

I recently got 2 bunnies one male and one female that I planned to slowly and carefully bond and spay/neuter. I’m a first time bunny mama and thought I had done my research and knew the basics of what to do. Boy bunny is 16weeks and girl bunny is only 11wedks.

I have two cages that I put next to each other to slowly get them used to each other a…[Read more]
