Eggplant can be given to rabbits in moderation, but a lot of rabbits may not like the spongy consistency, and I don’t know that a lot of people have offered it to their rabbits.  It can be found on some lists of veggies and fruits for rabbits, but it’s not one of the more common ones.  Be sure to never give them the leaves or the green tops.  Eg…[Read more]

Hi, does anyone live in CT and know a very experinced vet who can perform a neuter/spay? The one place that has a very experinced doctor just quoted me 500-800 for just a neuter (higher end being if the bun needs to stay over night and the lady on the phone did say they will not let the bun home unless it is eating)

the spay would be 800-1000…[Read more]

Ugh I don’t know what exactly you mean with the “chewed up hay inside”

Exactly because of that I’m asking because most of her poops are good but everyday there are some little ones, some squished together, darker and moist.

But my bunny is all alright running happily. She is young, I don’t know if it could be from the pellets I give her alfalfa…[Read more]

My mom picked up an eggplant for the buns and we don’t know how to give it to them since we never worked with eggplant before, heck today was the first day I touched an eggplant! Same as my mom. Anyway do you peel it and cut it or just cut it up for them? How do you give it to your bun? Plus, technically an eggplant is a fruit so how often do you…[Read more]

Oooh that’s awesome that they do the bonding for you! And definitely increases the chance of success since they can try different bunnies.

Good to keep in mind for the future!

Thank you so much for responding! The rescue would bond them for me. They have a bonding program where you bring your bunnies to the shelter for 1-2 weeks and they introduce a few rabbits throughout the stay to try and find a promising one. Once they find they think will work, they’ll start the bonding process. Depending on how much time they have…[Read more]

When you break one open, does it have lots of chewed up hay inside?

Generally, as long as the poops aren’t squishy or weirdly formed, it’s nothing to be worried about.

So, there are a few ways things can go. I would only recommend going for the group if you are prepared to deal with any of the outcomes. 🙂

Bringing a new bunnies (or bunnies) into the group can cause the current pair to split up, either temporarily or permanently. I think it’s very common for the pair to split up, and then go back together once…[Read more]

Are these darker poops something to be concerned about then?

DanaNM replied to the topic Hay in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 6 months ago

As long as it’s a grass hay (not alfalfa) and he eats lots of it, then it’s fine. There are some slight differences in fiber and protein among the grass hays and different cuts, but nothing to be concerned about as long as he eats plenty of it. My buns poops get a bit darker when they eat orchard grass vs. timothy, for example.

Hello all! Sorry if this is the wring place to post this.

I have two 1 yo rabbits named Lilly and Leo. I’ve been thinking about getting one or to more. I have a wonderful rabbit rescue near me, they have lots of experience bonding rabbits and have nearly two hundred(not joking) rabbits for adoption at any given time. I would love to get a couple…[Read more]
