Update: The male rabbit, Nigel, was pooping and peeing everywhere so I put a sheet over the fence so they couldn’t see each other while he settled in. One day, I came home from work and he had removed part of the sheet and they were looking at each other through the double x pen I have that separates them. They have been living side by side with…[Read more]

If you’re really set on a snuggle buddy, I would recommend a cat. You should go to the shelter when it’s time to adopt and meet them. There’s always at least one animal you’ll feel a connection to and see if they’re the right fit.
I have three cats and two rabbits, they all have their own personality. Two of the cats love to cuddle, the other one…[Read more]

She’s eating normally and seems as active as normal. She doesn’t seem to have any other symptoms which is why I am hesitant to put her through a big procedure. I have been trying anti-inflammatory/antibiotic tears drops for a week and it made no effect.

Agree with Bam, Simethicone is always worth a try.

As long as he’s eating on his own I wouldn’t be too concerned.

Being prey animals, rabbits naturally don’t like being held and cuddled. There are exceptions, and big rabbits like Flemish Giants are usually more chill than small ones. But if you want a pet to cuddle with, I would strongly advise against a rabbit.

    Yay!

I hope he will continue to produce poops!

Simethicone baby gas drops can sometimes help a bit when a bun has a poop issue. It’s not really scientifically proven, but it does seem to have some effect  perhaps because it lubricates the inside of the intestines a bit. It is in any case harmless and much used for milder digestive problems in buns.

    Hi everyone,

I brought my new rabbit home from the rescue this afternoon, I knew he was picky with eating and so I am not completely surprised that with the stress of bringing him home he is not pooping. We are at about 12 hours of no poop, but he has continued to snack on hay + some romaine, but not nearly enough hay. He’s peed twice in his l…[Read more]

Weeping eyes can be the result of tooth root problems. Unfortunately, not much can be done for that except treat the symptoms. It would be a good thing to know (via x-ray). However, if you’re not ready to go that route, you could try treating the symptoms to see if it helps. You could try a warm compress on the eye to see if that helps open it up…[Read more]

Oil doesn’t really do anything. It just makes a mess, IMO. If you believe it is ear mites, then you can treat with Revolution or Ivermectin. You can get this from a vet.

I have 3 cats and 3 bunnies and I wholeheartedly agree that the bunnies are more work. So much more work. But their happiness is contagious so it’s all a balancing act.

My bunnies are also very loving with me but in their own way. They like to put their heads on the floor and have me pet them. They do not like being picked up and if I’m petting…[Read more]

Unfortunately I don’t have space big enough for that many pens except in the area they live in, which is definitely not neutral. I’ll try some kind of obstacle though!

I’m so sorry for your loss. 🙁 Ten is a wonderful age for a rabbit, and what an adorable little guy! It sounds like he had a wonderful life with you. <3
