I agree with BB. A nightlight and some background noise may help. Many bunnies actually like having a nightlight. I think it makes them feel safer.

I am sorry your bunny is going through this . How awful. Wick has given some great immediate tips for the nightmares.
Just some ideas that come to mind as well to add to the advice. Wondering if a bunny toy as a surrogate would be comforting. You could get your scent on it by having it with you while you sleep for a couple of nights and then…[Read more]

I edited your post, specifically the description portion, with the aim to maintain the integrity of what sort of traumas she has suffered, but spare the forum for what is frankly disgusting behavior towards any living thing. The real thing I want to focus on is that this rabbit has been taken out of that environment and you are caring, willing,…[Read more]

It seems like everyday my buns do something silly. This morning Ruby chased Elmer, did a mini binky right before getting to him then went by. I think she is trying to get him to play chase, but he just sits there. She tried again, and he looked right at her and said “NO!” (Thump). It seemed to escalate a little but they calmed down. Poor thing,…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Help! My bunny wont stop peeing and pooping in front of the enclosure door! in the forum BEHAVIOR 5 years, 6 months ago
It sounds like he is hitting puberty so should be neutered soon. Once he’s neutered his box habits should return. 🙂 He likely sees the area right outside as the edge of his territory, so he’s marking it to make sure everyone knows it’s his turf 😉
You might try adding a litter box just outside the cage in the meantime. He also might be afraid…[Read more]

Good for you! I still have three bunnies, as well. I actually got them because I knew Lola was up there in age and didn’t want Bugs, her boyfriend, to be too lonely when she was physically gone.

So my bunny was perfectly using his litter box up until he reached 4 months. Now he keeps on pooping and peeing in front of his cage door, no matter how many times I change the door. He seems to do this every time I have to put him in his cage. Could this be a statement because he’s frustrated that he has to go back to his x-pen or has he…[Read more]

As DanaNM said, ignoring is a good sign! To get into more details, ignoring is the absence of one or the other rabbit “freaking out” when the other one moves, gets close, etc.. So ignoring is definitely a good sign, relative to a rabbit who might constantly run or lunge when the other rabbit is maneuvering around.
