Got it! I talked to a friend of mine and she said I could use her kitchen tomorrow for a completely different neutral space. Crossing my fingers this helps! I’ll also try stressing in the evening – I realized that I have been doing all stress bonding sessions earlier in the day (times I’m more likely to go out, and to prepare them for the day) so…[Read more]

At 6:30am he gets enrofloxacin with food, I give him lettuce and offer pellets. Should I still give him critical care with this? Maybe a little?

Thank you guys. He’s been licking the critical care from the syringe which is really good, I hope he keeps doing that. I’ll be giving him more at 1am with his meds, 3am, and 6:30am with his meds. I’ll watch how he’s doing tomorrow and see if he’s eating better. I’ll probably have to pick up more critical care, though. I’ve been giving 1.5tbs…[Read more]

Dana is right, meds and “non-typical” foods can cause weird poops. They look like regular poops with cecotropes mixed in. Definitely keep trying with the critical care. Mixing it with something to give a little flavor might help. In the spirit of offering anything and everything, you could try some fragrant herbs as well (fresh or dried).

I’ve had a similar thing happen with past bondings (all good during the day, then things get feisty at night). Do you have any other location (of the same size) that you could try? It honestly sounds very familiar to me, because Bun Jovi always wants to mount in the evenings.

I think sometimes the space becomes not-neutral over time and a change…[Read more]

Update: This afternoon was going amazingly, but they regressed in the evening when Theo became more active. I was so hopeful because they were literally cuddling the whole afternoon, and then around 7pm Theo went wild with the chasing and mounting. Alfredo ran, and then took it for a bit, but it was pretty excessive so I intervened when it seemed…[Read more]

As long as there is poop happening, I wouldn’t worry about what it looks like. Medication can cause weird poops, plus he is prob having trouble eating his cecals still (yes it looks like there are cecals mixed in).

I honestly wouldn’t keep rushing him to the vet, I think he needs gentle supportive care at this point (especially since he is eating…[Read more]

I am so sorry to hear Sunny left to see our heavenly papa or mama.  I wish you find some comfort in the company of your other bunnies. Death is such an ugly thing, and it hits particularly hard during the winter.  Sunny will be another friend in heaven for my bunny Lola who also passed not long ago, January 29th to be exact.  May both of them be…[Read more]

Thanks LBJ10. We picked up some critical care from a vet closer to us today because the emergency vet advised me to. I started giving it at 5pm and it’s been a struggle getting it in his mouth because it’s only a little at a time. I just stopped trying and it’s 6:20pm… Maybe I watered it down too much because there’s still a lot left. He ate…[Read more]

It’s Saturday evening and my rabbits regular vet won’t be available until Monday. I’m feeling a lump behind one of my rabbits nipples and it seems rather large. I can kind of move the lump around and it’s not painful to her. The nipple also seems bigger than the others. I haven’t noticed this before because she’s always hated pets on her stomach…[Read more]

Yes, a pen would be a much safer way to test the waters. Another thought would be a pet stroller. If your bunny isn’t afraid of being in a carrier, then she might enjoy going for a little stroll in a pet stroller.

Thank you so much for your input! That’s what I was thinking but I just needed some more opinions. She will be a happy floor bunny! Thank you again 🙂

I do want what’s best for her – the other concern I have is that maybe she needs a comrade ? I just don’t want her to be bored and to live her best life

this is one of those times I wish I had a yard and a house !

Hmmm ok I might try a pen first and see her reaction before trying with the leash or even without

she does follow us around typically

as for the mites I treat her against worms, mites fleas etc and she has been vaccinated. I do hear you and the concerns and will do some further consideration

    Bummer :/

I wouldn’t worry about the cats… since you will be there I doubt they will be a problem (and might actually provide a distraction for the buns to focus on other than each other).

I have a “bunny room”, no cage or condo. I’ve had good luck with using NIC grids to block off places like behind the desk, etc. There was the incident with the drywall, but I managed to stop the temptation to chew by covering the spot with cardboard. Heavy objects work well for dig spots. I like the 12 x 12 ceramic tiles. I just plop them down on…[Read more]

Oh no, I’m sorry Muffin isn’t doing well. Will he eat critical care? Sometimes they will eat it on their own if you make it more of a paste and put it on a plate. I’ve also had good luck with dried willow leaves when they didn’t feel like eating hay. Some food is better than no food, so I would try anything and everything.
