Thanks @kanin. I love the little chew monster to bits too 😀

How are your 3 doing? (hope I got that right!) Is Fresno still sporting that extra winter bod? After being so malnourished he’s probably enjoying it! Quincy wins the cute though with that one white sock.

My bun has always itched his ears a lot. I’ve had him 4 years and he’s always checked out healthy! He’s often shaking them and itching them though, but he has super thick fur and sheds a lot. As long as he seems healthy I think it’s ok 🙂

I’ve had my rabbit for years now and when I lived in an apartment I blocked off my walls, but now I own a home and I’m at the end of trying to figure out what to do to keep him from eating my walls! He loves roaming around so it’s hard for me to block him off somewhere, I’d love for him to have the house to run. I’ve tried bitter spray, vinegar,…[Read more]

That is a good point about the teeth to keep in mind. I didn’t know my rabbit’s history but I didn’t feed correctly at first, and when he got his neuter there was a tooth that needed smoothed out. It hadn’t started causing problems but we caught it very early.  Since eating more hay there have been no problems.  I also do what Wick suggests, v…[Read more]

For many rabbits, hay is not their most preferred food, so if they are getting vegetables and and a good amount of pellets, their likelihood to eat hay (especially sub-optimal hay, in their picky eyes/nose) is low! You can imagine this tendency might be even more strong for a rabbit who was fed a lot of pellets growing up.

    I would suggest making…[Read more]

I just wanted to update this thread for posterity, in case anyone happens upon it in search for bonding experiences/advice. Alfredo and Theo are (tentatively officially) bonded, and the rest of the tale is here: https://binkybunny.com/forums/topic/small-space-making-things-worse/

One month of prebonding, and one month of bonding later = happy…[Read more]

So, final (hopefully) update – they seem to be bonded! They are free roam in the room now, and besides for the occasional chase/mount from Theo, they are doing really well. Actually, at this moment they are taking a nap, but despite having so much room chose to be squished together in one room of their castle. Theo follows Alfredo wherever he goes…[Read more]

One thing I have noticed is that in his previous home he was fed a lot of pellets and not much hay so I’m trying different types of hay (orchard, timothy..etc.) but he doesn’t react any differently to orchard hay so I’m thinking of trying different brands of timothy, Thanks for the advice!😁

When I got my first rabbit last year, for the first couple weeks he didn’t eat much hay but I didn’t realize I was over feeding pellets. Cutting back made him more hungry for hay, but still I was concerned because he didn’t seem to eat enough. I kept trying different brands/ types of hay until I found something he liked and he has done MUCH…[Read more]

Hi, I had an issue with my bun going after the carpet too. I put a shoe tray with newspaper shreds where he was digging, and did try to cover his favorite spots with things like suggested here. That helped a lot. I ended up getting rid of my carpet… But something else I tried before removing it, was put the foam playroom mats over top. They slid…[Read more]

So I just got my bunny Willow recently and he eats vegetables and pellets but…when he eats hay he picks through the strands ALOT, I’m not sure why but he’s always sniffing the hay before eating it. Any ideas to get him eating hay more?

    Hi again 😃

Uploading pictures can be a bit tricky, but what works for many people is to upload the picture to your profile, and then insert it from there into the post where you want it.

Or, if you like, you can send me a DM and I’ll help. Can’t wait to see Henry again!

Yes, definitely put something heavy like a 12×12 tile on top of the dig spots. I’ve found that they help them “forget” about the spot. Finding something that your bunny will actually use and play with can be difficult. Sometimes you have to do some experimenting. I like Wick’s suggestion of using fleece. You could also try making a dig box, but…[Read more]
