Josiebear started the topic Sir Henry Fuzzy Bottoms. – Love to identify type of Lion/Jersey in the forum THE LOUNGE 5 years, 6 months ago
Here is my precious , scrumptious, and glomp-worthy little boy. His name is Sir Henry Fuzzy Bottoms and I rescued him from the Humane Society in 2015. At the time they had him labeled as a Jersey Wooly, Male, 2 years old. This Feb of 2021 he turned 8 years old! Henry was the first rabbit I’ve had experience with and I sort of went in blind XD. I…[Read more]

I second LBJ. Rabbits are often taken from the mother at age 6 weeks, but kept together with their siblings for 2 more weeks. At 6 weeks they are weaned and eat solid food. Since you are adopting 2 rabbits, they will have each other, which is very good for them.
Very young rabbits have more delicate GI systems than adult rabbits, because their GI…[Read more]

Ozi&Shakira replied to the topic Are these binkies, is my rabbit happy? in the forum BEHAVIOR 5 years, 6 months ago
Hi again,
Thank you for your responses!
I’m very glad he seems happy or at the least comfortable to you! Both of my rabbits do this same type of binky, I just wasn’t sure if it was a sign of distress or happiness or other.
I love watching him when he’s like that. He is adorable and funny 🙂 (sometimes it’s hard to sleep when they’re both…[Read more]

Jen G replied to the topic Almost at my wit's end in the forum BONDING 5 years, 6 months ago
Sorry that it was confusing.
Willow does not fight with either of them and therefore, she has her play time with both of them at separate times. She has bonded with both of them. Honey and Pearl had a falling out about a month after all three were spayed, last September. Honey and Pearl have been separated since then, but their housing is ne…[Read more]

Yes, binkies can have a different meaning depending on the context. He does look content here, almost as if he’s playing with the comforter.

LBJ10 replied to the topic My first bunnies in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 6 months ago
Hi Joanna! Welcome to BB! I removed your photo because it is against forum rules to post pictures of very young baby bunnies. Although 6 weeks is young, they will not be so young that milk replacement is necessary. It is recommended that babies stay with mom until they are 8 weeks, but they are capable of eating pellets and hay at 6 weeks of age.…[Read more]

Hello, I’m new to this site. I have googled kit care so much I’m getting stressed, but determined to learn all there is. I’m adopting 2 mini Rex, they are actually the runts of the litter. I found out I am to get the bunnies in 2 weeks but that they will be 6 wks. I’m nervous and thinking I should bottle feed them as well as introduce pellets…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic Weird Reaction after Falling in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 6 months ago
I agree, it sounds like he hit his face or even got the wind knocked out of him. I would check him over thoroughly to make sure there are not injuries and monitor him to make sure he’s still eating OK.

LBJ10 replied to the topic Bunnies poop is stringy in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 6 months ago
Yep, the strings are just hair. It means he’s been ingesting a lot of fur. To be honest, with short fur, I have had the best luck with “plucking”. I don’t know why, but most brushes don’t seem to grab the loose fur very well. Sometime you don’t even need to pick them up. Just offer a distraction that will occupy them for awhile (ex: a hay cube).…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic Bunny ate a piece of plastic the size of a nickel in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 6 months ago
You may not see the plastic in his poop. It depends on how well it was chewed and what kind of plastic it was. Lots of bunnies have eaten weird things and were perfectly fine afterwards. All you can really do it encourage food/water and monitor.

LBJ10 replied to the topic Neuter Success Story! (With Small Question) in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 6 months ago
Thanks for sharing! I’m glad to hear everything went well. Little know fact – Boys tend to bounce back really quick after neutering. Most act as though nothing happened.

Aww that’s great! Thank you for posting the positive story, it is so true that the negatives dominate the internet!
It is totally fine to feed extra critical care any time you are in doubt, and with only eating 1/3 of normal, I would give some. He might eat it on his own off a spoon, some bunnies love it!

Hey all!
I hope this is in the right place. As some may remember, I was very worried about my baby boy, Gustavo and his upcoming neuter. Well, today was the big day and I have great news! He made it! One thing that led to my anxiety was that what you will find on the internet is mostly stories of when things go wrong (thank you for pointing that…[Read more]
