Yep, the strings are just hair. It means he’s been ingesting a lot of fur. To be honest, with short fur, I have had the best luck with “plucking”. You may not see the plastic in his poop. It depends on how well it was chewed and what kind of plastic it was. Lots of bunnies have eaten weird things and were perfectly fine afterwards. All you can really do it encourage food/water and monitor.
