Sometimes buns will get a little more territorial when a new bun arrives, so she might be prone to tempers more easily. ๐Ÿ™ย  Sorry she’s acting up!

As you said, maybe moving T into somewhere where M can’t see/smell him would be best for now, since he isn’t yet neutered. (I forgot about that! lol ) After buns get fixed, usually their smells will…[Read more]

A general rule is that the temp difference between outdoors and indoors temp shouldnt be over 10 degrees C (18 degrees F) plus or minus.

If the rabbit is only going to be outside for sth like 15 minutes, the temp diff can be a bit bigger. (Some buns really enjoy to go out and dig around in snow).

It’s important to not let the bun pig out on…[Read more]

If you’re willing to make a bit of a drive, I would highly recommend SEAVS in Fairfax.ย  We used them for 8 years (until we moved to TX) and they were always wonderful.ย  We had two of our bunnies fixed there (the other three were already fixed when we adopted them) and everything went very smoothly.ย  They are also great with updating you on the co…[Read more]

Phew! That’s reassuring. So nothing to worry about? Today M started grunting and circling my feet when I walk around, and also bit my husband. We were wondering if it might be best to move T into the bedroom where she doesn’t go for the time being, to keep them completely separate. I’m totally new to bonding and I know it’s a fragile…[Read more]

I really want to take my bunny out as spring is almost here but I’m not sure exactly what would be too warm or cold being outside.

    Hi,

My bunny has recently had dental surgery to remove a number of teeth following repeated abcesses over the past year. He’s eating really well (veggies and pellets) but seems to struggle with hay.

His bonded mate eats hay constabtly so it’s still being supplied and refreshed daily, but he doesn’t seem to have any interest.

    Does anyone have…[Read more]

Oooh, it sounds like you’ve entered the poop/pee wars! ๐Ÿ˜† Definitely been there. ๐Ÿ˜‰ The best part is that these new ones might even smell more in the buns’ attempt to mark territory! Gotta love them and their habits, right? ๐Ÿ˜›

For the setup ~ I think that sounds good. ๐Ÿ™‚ Usually, some people will have them side-by-side so that they can get…[Read more]

    Hi everyone,

I have been reading lots of similar stories, but can’t find anything that answers my particular question.

I have a 7-month old doe Netherland Dwarf (M), who was sterilised 3 weeks ago. Yesterday, I adopted a young buck Belier (T), who I would like to bond with her.

M is a free roaming bunny, allowed in all parts of the apartment…[Read more]

Do you have any suggestions on how I can make modifications? They have a pen indoors, a low pile rug that covers most of it to minimize any abrasive carpeting. I felt like I tried my best to give them a good set up to prevent something like this, but I guess being a rex and 3 legs he is just high risk? Any advice is appreciated, I’ve had them…[Read more]

I am here to follow up on rescued bunny situation. Thank you for replying to my questions. Five juvenile rabbits dumped on a trail head near my house. Found homes for all but the little boy, dwarf hotot, maybe mixed with Netherland. He has integrated into our household. I’ve never had a house rabbit before.ย  I appreciate your advice and what I…[Read more]

Hi! I would recommend trying to give her her pellets in a separate dish from your other rabbit, I am not an expert about lettuce though…

In lab experiments, symptoms can manifest in as little as two days. I would say you should be “safe” if a week or so goes by and there are no symptoms. I think it would be very difficult for you to pass the virus onto your bunny simply by touching your cold sore and then touching your bunny. I wouldn’t be too worried about it. But if you are, it…[Read more]
