Oh wow! Poor little guy, that’s so wonderful that you rescued him. I hope they other bunnies were taken to a shelter and not something worse.

Very interesting!
Regarding Winnie’s behavior change, it’s great that you are seeing positive changes. That might shift a bit when Leo hit’s puberty, but hopefully not. I don’t think she feels threatened. She could be smelling Leo on you and wanting to check that out. She also could be comforted by the presence of another rabbit around,…[Read more]

Hi there,
There are definitely some hormonal fluctuations for the few weeks post-neuter that can make buns extra crazy.
As for the rug digging, does he have any safe alternatives to chew and dig at instead? My diggers really like cardboard cat scratchers, paper mats, and sea grass mats. Phone books and boxes stuffed with shredded paper can also…[Read more]

Hello I’m new to this forum group.
I have 2 boys Charlie and Leo that live outside. I have a problem that they have started banging at night. I’ve been watching them on a camera I have and they seem very chilled and relax and then randomly one of them starts banging. It happens at different times of the night, some times it’s one or 2 bangs then…[Read more] -
Waffle65 started the topic How long for your buns to recover from molar spur trim? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 5 months ago
Hi All,
My 4.5 year old rabbit Phoebe stopped eating her pellets earlier this week. She was still eating some hay, but not her usual amount. She acted similarly over the summer when she had some minor molar spurs, so I suspected that was what was wrong. She spent most of Tuesday at the vets office getting some fluids and checked out, but…[Read more]

Oh bunnytowne, hello! 👋🏼
It’s very nice to hear from you. I think you did tell us you got a cat after Cotton passed. What is it’s name?
I do hope you know, you can visit & post here as much as you like even if you no longer have a bunny. 🙂
I have 3 buns now. One single boy and a pair. They’re all seniors. 🥰
I’m also bun sitting 5 others.…[Read more]

Hi!
So my bun is 1 year old and I was finally able to neuter him. He is normally a very calm bunny and is never destructive at all. I wasn’t going to get a second bun, so originally I considered not neutering him. But then he started humping me and scratching me any second he got. He doesn’t have a cage, so I would literally wake up to him…[Read more]

I agree with LBJ. Chlorfeniramine is antihistamine. Its bunny safe and it is fast-acting (within hours). If your bun is still having these breathing sounds, it indicates that this is not about an allergy.
One possibility is that your bun has a chronic thickening of the nadal mucosa, due to a long-standing sinus infection. This would take a long…[Read more]

I know this is about cats vs. rabbits, but I grew up with at least 4 dogs in the house and I feel like having our 1 rabbit has been the work of having 4 dogs lol.
The reason my husband and I decided to get a rabbit was that he grew up with cats and as I said, I grew up with dogs. One of our friends had a rabbit and we both loved it, so we thought…[Read more]

My husband and I have had a Hollan Lop, Winnie, for just a year now and she’s been great for the most part besides her sassy attitude lol. She does have cataracts, unfortunately, so she can be rather skittish sometimes, but she has learned to trust and love us after a lot of trial and error. But we finally understand Winnie’s language and the last…[Read more]

WinnietheLops replied to the topic anyone have a lap bunny? in the forum THE LOUNGE 5 years, 5 months ago
Yes! I always feel so guilty when I have to get up to go to the bathroom or need to move to get more comfortable lol. My husband loves that our rabbit, Winnie, does this because it remind him of his cat but it also reminds me of when my dogs would snuggle endlessly. Lap buns are the best!

Chlorpheniramine is safe to use in rabbits. However, if allergies were the problem, then you would have seen improvement with the antihistamine. My guess is the heavy breathing is a lingering infection. It may have gone down into the lungs. If that is the case, your bunny would need another antibiotic. Sometimes infections are stubborn in rabbits…[Read more]

That Cotton had a beautiful life. Sounds like you had him at the vets all the times he needed to go to the vets. I believe we blame ourselves even tho it wasnt our fault. My Cotton Boo McChew passed 3 years ago. I firmly believe they visit us. Know your Cotton visits you. He truly appreciated the good life you gave him. He was a lucky bun. It…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Any tips on encouraging hay eating? in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 5 months ago
The non-hay food spacing you mention could be a contributor. 7am and 11am are pretty close together. If he had 7am and 5:30PM only, that would probably encourage more hay eating. It’s possible that between these feedings and his natural sleep time, there is actually not many opportunities where he’s active/hungry/bored enough to eat hay.
