lillybrody replied to the topic Rabbits eye continues to water even after multiple treatments. in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 5 months ago
Hi! I actually have a bunny, a 9 yr old named Brody, who’s had the exact same situation for almost a year now. Our local vet gave the eye drops, which helped for around a day, but even to this day he still releases cloudy liquid from his eyes. Honestly, and this just based on Brody it may differ for your bunny, as long as they continue to eat,…[Read more]

mods – would it be at all possible to modify or delete this thread? I hoped to edit it, but can’t find the option any longer.
On a side note – after posting this I thought, and realized maybe the odor issue could be because i’m using too much vinegar actually (using it every time i change her pan). i just changed her pan again and just used…[Read more]

Sorry for double posting, but I have a new question.
He started Baytril on 3/15. He got one dose that day due to timing. So by now he’s had 9 doses with another coming in 2 hours.
Prior to his vet visit, he took to randomly thumping every now and then while in his cage. This was totally new to him so I’m assuming it was due to the pain. Then…[Read more]

It’s not really known why some rabbits eat their own round poop. I’ve seen it in my bun when he was coming out of a bout of stasis. There is the theory that the bun needs the fiber thats in the round poop, or the good bacteria the round poop contains. (Some vets suggest feeding a poorly rabbit poop from a healthy rabbit, to help reestablish a…[Read more]

Hey guys, I’m coming to you for advice. I am dealing with a rabbit odor problem and try as I might, I can’t seem to figure it out. It’s making my home very unpleasant, to the point I am isolating in one small room because the smell outside this room is so strong and terrible.
I just can’t get the rabbit urine smell out of my home. My rabbit…[Read more]

Hello new friends!
I have a 5 month old Rex/Harlequin mix, scheduled for a neuter in one month. My little guy eats a LOT of poop. Not just his squishy ones which I know is normal, but hard ones as well. He’ll poop 5 or 6 where he’s sitting then gobble them up. (He doesn’t seem to touch the ones in his litter box that I can tell). Also t…[Read more]

Hi fluffy friends,
My rabbit Oreo suffered an abscess a couple years ago. Luckily it wasn’t attached to a bone or anything like that so antibiotics cleared it right up, however it left what looks exactly like a loose dewlap on his neck. I use a water bowl because Oreo drinks a ton of water and I know bottles can be problematic for water i…[Read more]

Hi! Thank you for replying!
Hopefully, this sudden behavior dies down soon. I will be trying some cat scratchers and digging mats and see what attracts him the most.
Another thing is I’ve been noticing that he has become so skittish. He has never really liked being held but I could at least grab him and place him wherever I needed to which is…[Read more]

Hiya all!
I am currently in the process of adopting a rescue bun possibly. I am still going over the pros and cons and making sure I’d be the best home and I want to have as much information as possible!
I saw they make clear grids for bunny cages — are these safe? I was hoping to do one maybe two tiers if needed to prevent them jumping out and…[Read more]

Some bunnies just aren’t big on veggies. Not sure why, but it does happen. It isn’t the end of the world. I think the wheatgrass suggestion is a good idea to try.

Holland lops are a dwarf breed. He should be close to full grown (size-wise) around 6 months. They continue to fill out for a few months after that, but it’s totally appropriate to transition to an adult pellet at 6 months.
As the others said below, spacing things out so he has a chance to get hungry is something else you can try.

Sorry for my long text but I forgot to add that I have also tried keeping him in just the pen in order to decrease space and re-establish one corner, but it didn’t work. He also is somewhat aggressive towards people who invade his space, but he doesn’t spray like territorial markings, just normal pee.

I’ve tried pretty much everything available in the grocery store here: 5 or 6 types of lettuce, cilantro, parsley, basil, dandelion (just last couple days but she has stopped even coming near them, haha), kale, spinach, and any other random thing I’ve tried for Elmer like Carrot tops, mint, chard…etc. Last summer my friend grew broccoli and…[Read more]

Hello everyone. I have an almost nine year old senior bun named Hopper. He has been neutered for 6 years, and was moved into my room permanently after living in a hutch. I know it wasn’t ideal, but now he is spoiled and is given free roam in a decently sized bedroom during the day. At night he has to stay in a cage, but it is a large exercise p…[Read more]
