You could also just handfeed him some of his regular pellets. He won’t care that it’s not technically a “treat”, they love their pellets, especially alfalfa. With real treats you would only be able to give him one or two a day, with pellets you can just keep them coming and get much more bonding time out of it.

Hey sorry to keep bugging you guys about this issue, but I wanted to update this thread in case anyone with a similar problem ever stumbles upon it. The consistency of my rabbit’s pee has really changed – i changed her pan again today and her urine was normal again, i can’t believe it. none of that milkiness to it that had been so bad. i have not…[Read more]

Rabbits sneeze, just like people do. It’s only an issue if he sneezes a lot and/or has a discharge from the sneezing.

I just want to echo everything that Wick said. I’m not sure where the breeder got the idea that spaying shortens the life span, because the opposite is true. Reproductive cancers occur in about 75% of rabbits over age 4, and the rates just go up with age.

You will want to spay both buns, then wait for their hormones to settle before you start…[Read more]

That looks so great, Ellie! You can do sth a bit similar with crochet, by alternating front post double crochet and back post. I have done a lot of crocheting during covid! (Tunisian crochet can be described as a mix between crochet snd knitting, with  one long hook).

I’m sorry you are having problems with your hands 🙁 I hope it will get a bit…[Read more]

    How old are your rabbits?

Despite what the breeder mentioned, I believe spaying both rabbits would highly benefit, both individually and as a pair.
Spaying actually elongates the lifespan, as it eliminates the risk for uterine cancer.
If the breeder was talking about the risks of the spay procedure, they may not be aware of how common, routine,…[Read more]

hi, i currently have two female rabbits that are early in the bonding process. one is a mini rex and the other is a himalayan – both not spayed (the breeder advised against it because it shortens their lifespan) and both about the same age. i got the himalayan because my mini rex’s cagemate passed away about a month ago and she did not seem to be…[Read more]

Hi @LBJ10! Indeed, nice to see that people are coming back again ^_^

@Bam: let’s see if uploading the pic works. This is my current project, it’s going to be a triangular shawl for the LARP club. Luckily I found some thick needles which are easier to handle. These are so long that the ends can rest on the sofa on both sides of me, so my hands…[Read more]

Here’s a more recent pic of Breintje. Nurse bunny is on the case! Breintje has been such a lovely boy and he’s taking such good care of me. When I’m in pain he joins me on the bed and grooms the arm/hand that hurts. 😀 (no socials please)

Omg that is so cute about him nibbling your hair!

About the mobility issues, there is a supplement called Myristol that I tried with Bertha (in comes in a rabbit pellet form, and you only give a tiny bit each day, like a few pellets worth). It has glucosomine, collagen, and some other anti-inflammatory things.  I felt slightly weird giving a…[Read more]
