Have any of you seen that video of that very old fruit bat that they take on “flies”??

You just reminded me of it, it’s so heartwarming:

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’ve had two rabbits pass very dramatically before my eyes, and it is extremely traumatizing.

Please don’t feel guilty, as you what you could for her and were giving her the best shot at a longer life by doing the emergency spay. As you mentioned, she had widespread cancer already, so it was likely too much for her. I…[Read more]

Oh, I am so, so, so sorry!!

Take a deep, belly breath. Put your hand on your stomach, and feel it go out as you breathe in, and in as you breathe out. Think of your happy place while you do this. πŸ™‚

You evidently cared very deeply about Elm; you gave her a loving home, a loving life, and most of all,Β you, a loving friend. I’m sure she would…[Read more]

It can be really hard restricting a free-roam bun’s space, but they will adjust, and it’s only temporary!

My go-to arrangement is usually to build temporary NIC cube condos, and then I found these “nose guards” recently that are really helpful for making nip-proof barriers. https://binkybunny.com/forums/topic/nose-guards/

It can also be really…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Bond my brand new bunny? in the forum BONDING 5 years, 5 months ago

I think if you are ready for the process, then it’s not too soon. Even if you don’t bond them right away, he might benefit from having a neighbor and a long pre-bonding period. This will help you bond a bit with both bunnies individually before starting the bonding process.

Do you know if he was previously bonded to a male or a female? Two…[Read more]

She will be OK until you can get to the vet. The vet might even be able to prescribe something over the phone (Revolution is one of the common treatments).

DanaNM replied to the topic Long time Lionhead people…. lifespan? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 5 months ago

Agree with others, lionheads might be prone to certain issues like dental problems, but not so much that they would have a dramatically shorter life span. They also could be including unspayed females in that calculation.

I don’t have any experience with this, just want to say I’m sorry you are going through this.

He sounds like a fighter and you are doing all you can to give him a shot.

It’s true that sometimes the runts of litters have issues in their development, so they don’t always live very long. If his treatment plan or outlook could change with a visit to…[Read more]

I found a paper documenting two rabbits who have this condition. I’ve linked it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nXnerlWoSDBjZTRaRvNRhz6SSGbsHYKb/view?usp=sharing

The last page has the treatment and response from treatment. It seems improvements were seen with topical treatment over a course of a few weeks.

    Hello all,

This is my first post, so hello everyone. I have 2 lovely bunnies, and my doe, Winnie has had an ongoing eye infection for a year. This has resulted in white plaques on her lower eye lids, discharge and inflammation. My vet referred her to an ophthalmologist, and we now (finally) have a diagnosis of eosinophilic keratitis. I’ve been d…[Read more]

Thank you, it works now! πŸ™‚

The reason why I posted it twice is because the reply didn’t show the first time. I’m having some problems with my phone as well, so I always copy my text before submitting. When the page loaded but I didn’t see my reply, I copied it and replied again.

    Hi Ellie πŸ™‚

I went ahead and fixed it. The reply was submitted twice with little time in-between, so I think our system flagged it as spam as a result. We know you’re not spam and your reply is now public! Sorry for the technical mishap there.

Technical problem here: I replied to a topic twice, and I can see that I replied to it in the “Diet and Care” category, but the replies themselves don’t show. I replied to the topic starter, and later I did one test to see if any replies would post. Can a mod restore my original reply to the topic starter?

    This is the topic:…[Read more]

It’s very natural to have mixed feelings about things — she helps your anxiety when you watch her binky and hold her, and at the same time, she seems to be a big source of anxiety right now. There’s a lot that goes into taking care of a pet rabbit, and if you feel you may not be able to take care of her right now, I would recommend rehoming her.…[Read more]
