I’m so sorry to hear that. I have no experience in this problem. But I read about it on a site. It may be good to keep eating fresh greens. Make you bunny a lot of exercise. You can take a water dispenser to encourage it to drink water. I am writing the link below. Talking about kidney stones below the urinary guide.

I forgot to add that the Gabapentin is 100mg/mL.

The vet gave him some fluids and a feeding. She wants to switch from Buprenorphine to Gabapentin. Is this a usual medication for gas pain? She said he still has gas, but it’s not too bad. She’ll call the animal hospital on Tuesday to try to book a ct scan. The dosage for the Gabapentin is 0.3mL every 12 hours. She said to continue the tri…[Read more]

Hi people,
Thanks for the reassuring words. This is what keeps me going actually, because I see that it doesn’t work because I’m doing something wrong and not because it’s impossible. I have several more questions and a little situation that really upsets me.

I have two bunnies, one male Holland lop one female lionhead (both fixed) that are bonded. They free roam and are indoor only, and I feed them oxbow pellets, Timothy hay, and a mix of veggies. They were rehomed to me in December, and had been separated due to the female biting the male. He had a small mostly healed bite wound on his side that had…[Read more]

I bet they’ll be fine, just keep an eye on them. 🙂
On a side note, I would put a cover on the run, to make sure no other animals can get in.

Hi, i have Holland dwarf rabbit, 6 months. The size of their poop it been changing for a while. Its pooping but not always the same size. Sometimes it poops very, very big, sometimes it poops very small. Could it be intestinal stasis? I also bought it a new home. It’s been 4-5 days. Could it new home be a problem?

Yeah it’s a nightmare
if I had to put money on it I would probably guess it was Gigi (the younger bun) who got hold of the bag and chewed it as I can’t imagine Sven taking any interest in it at all
but I just need to keep an eye on them both and check they are ok
so far so good 🤞

Thank you DanaNM. Makes me feel a bit better. He drank a bit of cilantro water I made for him. I blended some cilantro with water, strained out all the pieces, and poured it into water. It took him a few hours, but he took a little drink. I saw people online saying to use a little fruit juice, but the vet told me not to give him any sugar for now…[Read more]

Hi everyone,
We had to take my 8 year old Netherland dwarf Rabbit, Ellie, to the emergency vet tonight after we horrifically noticed her pee blood. It only happened once and she wasn’t showing any signs of pain up until that point (eating, drinking, playing with her brother). After an xray the vet found one kidney stone, and some small calcium…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Grooming comb in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 5 months ago
I use a combo of hand plucking, the hair buster, and sticky lint roller sheets. I’ve also used soft bristle brushes (more to desensitize the bun to brushing) and the kong groom zoom (it works, but the fur kind of flies everywhere). My buns all have slightly different coat textures, so different combs work better on some (and they tolerate…[Read more]

Oh no, I’m sorry to hear this. 🙁
If he’s getting critical care and wet greens, that might be enough fluids for him, especially if he’s not eating hay on his own (which usually makes buns thirsty). If he’s urinating normally, I think he’s prob OK for now. You could syringe some water or hay tea if you are worried.
I know I’ve mentioned this…[Read more]

I need a bit of help. I know that the hairbuster is probably the best comb for rabbits when molting but I want to know if there are other kinds of combs/brushes that I could use that would be just as good or at least decent enough until I can get a hairbuster. Also, how long should I brush for? I read/heard for 45 minutes to an hour but I also…[Read more]

Pinky went into a form of stasis on Wednesday. He was lethargic in the morning and only had a few bites of his lettuce so I took him to the vet and got there in the afternoon. They did x rays, no obstruction but lots of gas, especially in the colon. We were going to take him to an animal hospital by referral (they can do a ct scan) to try to…[Read more]

Hi, everyone
I am wondering if there might be a list somewhere listing what branches need to be dried out prior to giving to your bunny to those that can be chewed anytime?
I have Maple, Poplar, oak, and pine in my yard.
also how long in a dehydrator would it take to make it safe to chew? Hard question I know.
I know my boy Loki loves…[Read more]
