If they only ate some of it, they will most likely be just fine. Keep a close eye on how much poop they produce and on their appetite. If they stop pooping or refuse to eat even their favorite food, you should contact a vet.

Rabbits chew what they eat because they cant swallow big chunks of stuff like dogs do. This is good because it makes it easier for things to pass through. If they get greens, serve them dripping wet so they get extra water in it, water also helps things pass through.

            Ok thank you so much!

I have brought them inside (don’t worry there isn’t a big temperature change from their home outside) so that I can keep an eye on them and check they are eating and drinking and pooping ok

they eat veg so I will use your advice in order to try and get extra water in

thanks again, you have helped put my mind at ease a bit!

I had a bun who over a series of years ate a plastic cat toy, big chunks out of a hot water bottle and the rubber lip of a dustpan – among other things. Even if you think you bun proof everything, rabbits always find ways to get themselves into trouble 😨🐇

                Yeah it’s a nightmare

if I had to put money on it I would probably guess it was Gigi (the younger bun) who got hold of the bag and chewed it as I can’t imagine Sven taking any interest in it at all

but I just need to keep an eye on them both and check they are ok

                so far so good 🤞

I bet they’ll be fine, just keep an eye on them. 🙂

On a side note, I would put a cover on the run, to make sure no other animals can get in.

I wouldn’t worry. I always wake up and find my buns have gone into the bin and eaten things they shouldn’t have (I swear they have better noses than I give them credit for).

Yesterday, I cleaned their boxes and I put a mini roll wrapper inside the rubbish bag with their old litter in it. And I went to the loo, come back to see Rat inside the bag of his own poop just to get the empty plastic to lick it!
