    Hey all,

I hope its okay for me to post this. Today we brought home our second bun, Lilly. She was just so gorgeous that when I saw her I knew she was the one. We did adopt from a shelter this time around, and will continue to do so in the future. All I know about her is that her previous owner surrendered her, she’s about a year old, and loves…[Read more]

Hsy is very important for rabbits. I would not recommend you only feed him hay if he isnt used to eating hay. It’s good advice for a bun that normally eats a good amount of hay, but acbun that doesn’t normally eat hay could very well refuse to eat at all if given only hay. A bun that refuses to eat will get seriously ill within 12-24 hours.

    This…[Read more]

    Hi there,

I recently did some research on airlines that allow rabbits because I was moving cross country (we ended up driving though), and Alaska Airlines still allows rabbits in the cabin, but you should call and confirm. They told me to call to book the flight, because they can only have a certain number of pets in the cabin per flight. I think…[Read more]

You should feed the greens too! My understanding is the whole plant has a lot of calcium, but again, it’s not really an issue unless you are feeding tons of it and you start to see excess calcium in the urine.

Yes, you can break up the poop to see if it has chewed up hay in it. If a fresh poop is very hard and doesn’t have much hay in it, it could be a sign of some GI slowdown or too little hay consumption.

Here is my favorite guide to bunny poop:

Hi there, I have a very curious and rambunctious cat who often likes to go into the bun’s enclosures. The issue I see for you now is that your bunny is very young, so is more vulnerable to being hurt and more fearful.

With my cat, when the bunny gets scared, he gets more predatory. Remember, play for cats is predatory. They tend to test things…[Read more]

Hello! I’m pretty new to rabbits and I’ve been fostering this rabbit named Buster.

According to the shelter he is a baby, but he just sits and sleeps all day. When we put him outside to play, he just sat there, doing nothing. He’s also pretty big and completely fine with cuddles and being held. Is this normal for baby rabbits?
    Thank You!

Not eating hay could be the cause of and symptom of the problem. Has he never been a big hay eater, or is that recent?

I agree that his molars should be checked. To really see the back either an X-ray or an exam under anesthesia is usually needed.

Hi! What Ives learned with rabbits is that their very similar to a horse with their guts.
you will need to only feed him hay for 7 days. Add a pinch of gaterade powder to his water(be mindful with how much because to much sugar well I’m sure you know.). The strict jay diet will help “reset” in a sense.

Regardless of your cat’s intention, it’s actions and how they’re perceived by the rabbit is what matters unfortunately. Dogs and cats often play in ways that involve scratching and play biting — you can imagine that if your cat intends to play with your rabbit in that nature, the outcome won’t be good.

There are some articles on rabbit.org…[Read more]

PS: when swatting, it isnt always “aggressive”, she will do it softly sometimes and will sometimes touch her softly with her claws like she wants to play with her and run around. I will try and add a video if I can.

Hi everyone, so here is my issue. I have a 3 year old female cat named Luna (spayed) and a 3 month old female bunny named Lyra. I have had my bunny for about 2 weeks now and I don’t know how to fix my cats behavior. So Luna is very curious about the bunny, has never tried to bite her or hiss at her or anything, but she has a problem of jumping…[Read more]
