White nails against white fluffy hair…argh!😜
Would it be too stressful to take him to my dog grooming friend…I hold, she cuts? Hubby not good in these situations.

I stopped at the shops and picked up a couple of options, blackberries, strawberries and banana. Will see what she likes best. First and last time I’m paying $7 for a tiny punnet of blackberries, lol.

Good that she got some fluids. Poor girl, she sounds really stressed to be biting you. Fingers crossed for good results.
I can tell you: bananas are bunny crack 😉 One problem though: once they’ve had a taste, you’ll never eat one again without having to share. Or you’ll get THE STARE! Those round big eyes staring up at you: feeeed meeeee!…[Read more]

Interesting, I didn’t think about providing hiding spots outside of her caged area. I will definitely give that a try.
I’m unsure about clicker training. I always assumed I needed the bunny’s trust to be able to train her. I’m currently trying to teach her “come here” and I’ll offer her a treat if she comes. By now I’m sure she knows the com…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Overweight in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 4 months ago
Don’t feel bad at all! My Bertha was about 11 lbs at her biggest, and she was still overweight on 1/4 cup food so our vet had us cut it back to 1 tablespoon (and eventually had us just stop all pellets). I agree that the pellet brand can make a huge difference as well, because most feed-shop brand adult pellets are not formulated for maintenance…[Read more]

We’re at the vet right now, they’re just taking bloods. No dental problems, definitely concern about the kidneys. She’s happy to try a course of panacur but after the blood results come back tomorrow to check her liver function first. They’re also going to give her some sub q fluids now to help give her a bit of a boost.
She also recommended…[Read more]

I usually name my rabbits either by planets or anime, how about Jupiter I’ve always loved that name but don’t have an extra bunny to use it on 😂

Hmm… 1/4 a cup does sound like a lot of food. BUT she is a 10lb bunny, so it probably isn’t WAY too much. Probably more like a tiny bit too much. At least when it comes to a high quality pellet. Since you don’t know what’s in these pellets, it’s hard to know how much she should be getting. I would definitely try to find out if they are…[Read more]

I was always told about a tablespoon for oats, but I suppose it depends on the size of the rabbit too.

Hopefully you can get some answers from the vet! I agree that sometimes it’s best to just treat for EC since the tests are not very reliable.

Wick & Fable replied to the topic my bunny doesn't lick me in the forum BEHAVIOR 5 years, 4 months ago
That is an age where hormonal changes do occur, so it’s possible it’s behavioral. That being said, adult rabbits can absolutely love their owners, but not lick them— licking is just one way of expressing love, and not all rabbits opt to do it that way. It can be very natural for them to lick other rabbits, but us humans can be confusing, with…[Read more]

I’m sorry to hear about your previous rabbit, but so happy that Nico is already bringing you such joy already! I absolutely love Nico’s coat color — it’s not one I’ve actually seen personally as I don’t think it’s common in pet rabbits in my area.
