Brief Luna update, I spoke to the vet today and got her some pain medication so she’s just had her first dose of meloxicam. The vet suggested getting a second opinion from a more experienced rabbit savvy vet might not go astray. I tend to see my local rabbit savvy vet who is very good and then proceed to the specialist or other rabbit savvy vets…[Read more]

Azerane replied to the topic Vet medication cost. Was I overcharged? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 4 months ago
I know Baytril isn’t cheap, but $450 for one bottle (what size is it?) Is absurd. Is it the same vet you got the cyst removed at? Do you still have the receipt? If so take both receipts back in and show them the price difference. I’d be wanting some money back.

I recently took my 7 year old rabbit to the vet because there was blood in her urine. I was expecting a large bill because she had to stay overnight to get a urine sample and the vet wanted an x-ray to look for kidney stones or any enlargement or growths in her uterus because she was never spayed. But when I got her bill back for payment, it was…[Read more]

I had him for 7 months. He does eat from my hand and he would even climb on me from time to time.

A lot of people train their bunnies to hop into their carrier when needed, so you could definitely do that. Usually all you need to do is feed them their pellets in the carrier, or give them a treat for going in it. It helps to leave the carrier out all the time, so they don’t get taken to the vet every time they go in it.

Yeah, I think you could go back to 1/4 cup and see how he does. Maybe now that he’s got a taste for hay he will have higher hay intake.

Ah, This is the problem. The only one i can hold. My bunny doesn’t like hold. I tried by awarding, still did not like hold. I cannot hold my bunny unless I have to.
Just have testicles, get healthy, enough.

The size and shape looks like bunny testicles, but can you get a better pic? If you pick him up maybe somebody else can take a pic for you?

My vet had me do this once. I mixed then into a little critical care and syringe fed them. My vet called it a “poop shake” lol

Hi
My vet asked me if I had another rabbit that I could collect cecotropes from to feed to my poorly rabbit.
Has anyone ever done this successfully as my rabbit is refusing to eat them.
