Thank you, I’ll try checking in with other vets. Though, the other two places I tried didn’t even find the time to call me back, though I left messages during business hours and tried calling more than once. General business practice around here is terrible like that, this isn’t the first business I’ve had similar issues with (I had to call over…[Read more]

Oh,yes.  Rosewoods Nature’s Salad is an awesome treat, dried flowers and herbs. Around here it is referred to as Pig crack, my girls do not accept other brands.  Walter the bunny really likes it too.

So, just to clarify, you’re saying I should wait until both are fixed? Yes!

If Doodle turns out to be a girl, and it’s impossible to find a place around here that spays rabbits, if Snicker is fixed will it be an issue if Doodle isn’t? Most likely yes — both rabbits need to be fixed in order to safely and reliably create a secure bond toget…[Read more]

I have one, but I don’t use it as a water bowl. I use it as a salad bowl. Bamboo plastic is somewhat porous, so I agree with Wick that what you’re seeing is probably from water standing in it.

Not all fat is equal. Unfortunately, it doesn’t distinguish between the different types here.

Thank you for this advice, and I’m happy it sounds like normal hormonal behavior. So, just to clarify, you’re saying I should wait until both are fixed? I just wish I wasn’t going to have to wait so many months, but I get it if it’s needed.

Honestly, Doodle could definitely be a girl. I haven’t even checked to know for sure. Doodle was just in…[Read more]

I don’t have that specific bowl, but it looks like it’s time to upgrade! Bowls that constantly have water are going to eventually grow some things, stain, and crack if they are not robust, so I would recommend getting something new to prevent any water contamination.

I would keep them separated, as it sounds like Detective Snicker is displaying some classic territorial aggression, thus he way be aggressive and violent with the new rabbit if given a bit more time in his territory. That initial interaction is positive, but hormonal rabbits can be very dynamic and fluctuate with their interactions. There is also…[Read more]

I would definitely suggest finding another vet who is rabbit-experienced AND qualified, which means an exotic vet specifically, rather than a “regular” vet.

In contrast to ear drooping, ear curling can be a blood circulation issue.

I have a spoiled male rabbit I rescued off the road back in August (Detective Snicker), and he has settled in so well. He usually gets along with the cats and dog just fine and is generally fearless. I scheduled him for a neuter a few months back, but we still have to wait until mid-June for the veterinarian to get him in. I guess everyone is…[Read more]

Hmmm, how long have you had the bunny?

Does it look like it may be a lop? Young lop rabbits ears don’t flop over until they get older, so maybe that’s what your vet meant?

Ear mites can also cause ears to hang down, but usually that’s only in very severe cases, so there would be other signs that I’m sure the vet would have noticed, even if they…[Read more]

I own a female Cinnamon who I rescued from my backyard and for the most of the past few days, its right ear is drooping.

    Cause for concern?

P.S : WE took it to a […] government vet hospital like 2 days ago and the vet held my rabbit by the ears while checking it (the vet wasnt very useful and told us that its ears droop all the time and…

It is higher than recommended by the guidelines here (falls within the range for lactating does though): https://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/Pellets

It’s tough, because most pellets are not within the ideal range for every single nutrient. I’ve spent a lot of hours looking at pellet nutrition comparison charts and it’s made my head spin a…[Read more]

That’s really great news! Way to go!

Maybe you could just keep doing regular sessions during the week and then next weekend try for marathoning starting on Friday?

I wonder if you could just eliminate the old food, and only offer a teeny tiny amount of the new food? Since Tater Tot is tiny, like a really tiny amount! Maybe a 1/2 teaspoon?

I’ve had times where I was unable to properly transition (it was a foster bun, and they didn’t give me the old food), so I just started out with a tiny bit of the new food…[Read more]

I’ve seen recommendations of 1-5% crude fat in Timothy pellets. I just got these adult pellets from Sherwood pet health and fat is 6.5%. Is this too much to have in a daily pellet?
