I would definitely get a second opinion and request a dental x-ray. Usually they only need to do very light sedation for x-rays, if at all (depends on how squirmy the bunny is and if they are able to trance them).

It could be a dental program, despite the fact that it’s only on one side. Your bunny might have tooth spurs, especially if he has any lop, netherland dwarf, or another small rabbit breed in him. @wick I was given 20 guage which works quite well actually, but the needle is so thick and he flinches when I stick it in! I was wondering maybe a 21 or even 22 guage might work for penicillin? What you wrote was very helpful, I will give it a try today
