Hmmm that’s a really stressful situation, I’m sorry you’ve been through that!
Ultimately I think it’s your call on whether you want to keep trying. But a few thoughts from my end… I’ve never had good luck with small space bonding, and actually the only bond I’ve every had break was using a small space method. I also wonder if you just didn’t…[Read more]

Molting and season change can def trigger gi issues and general grumpiness. I would keep pushing hay and extra water on her to keep things moving a long. I have had buns that would snub pellets first when they were starting to have a tummy issue.

That sounds very different from what my bun had, and I learned something ready your post, as I had never heard of that condition. It sounds like you are really doing all you can for her.
Does your bun live with another rabbit? The other thing you can do (which is not quite as intense as feeding cecals) is crumble up regular healthy poops and…[Read more]

Can you describe the appearance of the skin? Does it look healthy, flaky, irritated…?

Hi , I just recently adopted a Holland lop mix , he’s currently about to be 4 months in a few days , but I’ve noticed his ear hair are still not growing , is it normal or can I give him something (ointment) for his hair to grow , he scratches himself but no more 2-3 times a day . If anyone can help me I’d appreciate it .

Hello, I’ve been scanning thread after thread over the last few weeks to try and assemble the information about rabbit behaviour, but it’s become increasingly clear to me that I just need to directly ask for some guidance from more experienced people. I’ll include the filled-in bonding template at the end of the post. My thoughts are a bit…[Read more]

It was good to get a second opinion, this vet sounds very thorough 🙂
I’m really happy that her weight is stable, and that she likes her food. I hope the snugglesafe works well for her! Older buns love warmth because in old age your fat percentage drops. Breintje has become a heat seeking fluff over the last 2 years, he loves sunshine and to…[Read more]

Well, the Panacur seems to be doing what it should! Fingers crossed her heart and lungs are ok. You’re really doing all you can do, and since her weight has stabilized, it seems you have gotten her the appropriate treatment.
A SnuggleSafe sounds like a good idea! Vilde likes snuggling up to the radiator during his day resting time.

Ok getting this down while it’s fresh. Vet visit went well, her weight seems to have levelled out which is good.
Took an x-ray as a precaution, vet said at quick glance there’s nothing alarming, kidneys etc look normal. Some shadowing over heart and lungs, she said it could be nothing but wants to take the time to study it properly and get back…[Read more]

Azerane replied to the topic Is anything this vet said true? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 4 months ago
I wouldn’t trust that vet. It’s possible the clinic were listed years ago due to a different vet on staff that was very rabbit savvy.
If it were me, I would phone the exotics clinic and get the soonest available appointment, if that’s in a week, so be it but at least you have it. In the mean-time ring around local clinics, ask if there are any…[Read more]

We have Luna’s second opinion vet appointment shortly so I should probably update after that but here we are 😛
I think her weight may have stabilised, it’s been yo-yo-ing up and down the last few days but if you look at today vs almost 2 weeks ago it’s about the same. With winter approaching and worrying about her weight I ordered a Snugglesafe…[Read more]

He’s pretty impatient when it comes to new toys. I remember when he and Joey got sent Christmas boxes from a secret Santa thing he tried to steal all of her toys!

My lion head Phoebe seems to be shedding for spring right now. I’m not seeing very much fur in her poops, but she does have that shedding line going across her back and I’m seeing a good amount of fur coming off, plus she seems to be constantly grooming herself for the last couple days.
Since this started she’s definitely eating less than usual…[Read more]
