Hey lovely bunny folks! 🙂
Our wonderful Teddy will turn 12 in a few weeks and I am so grateful for all your help during his entire life so far!! 🙂
So, lately he seems to have a new normal every few weeks, and we’re trying to find the right balance of rolling with it gently and also making sure his needs are met. (He has spondylosis and ge…[Read more]

Yeah, I was gonna say the same about the hygrometer! We have a simple one (like $10 I think) about a foot off the ground in Teddy’s area, and then use an evaporative humidifier to keep the humidity above 35%. Hope this works for you and your bun!

Okay thank you so much! Yes I talked to my local rescue, replaced the ikea bed with a blanket and made the pen smaller after I made the post. I’ll call the vet tomorrow and ask them how long I should keep him in the pen, the receptionist who brought him to my car didn’t really say anything about post-op care but I do have a care sheet. I got…[Read more]

That’s wonderful! Lovely snuggly Luna 🙂 <3
I might have to get one of those for my buns next winter (and maybe myself LOL). They all liked the cold in California, but they’ve never experienced a New England winter!

I think as long as she is slowly improving, then things are OK. But of course if you are concerned you can give your vet a ring, especially before we head into the weekend.
Did they say how long they want her to wear the shirt?

I noticed that Cooper was REALLY un-satisfied with being in a pen in our old place, as well as all the motels we stayed at on our drive (constantly rattling the bars and trying to jump out), but in our new place he is in a NIC cube condo when unsupervised, and he seems much more at peace with it all.
There are a lot of variables that changed,…[Read more]

He sounds to be recovering well! Licking the IV area is no problem.
At the shelter we keep the buns hay boxes as they are normally after their neuters, and they are kept in a restricted space for 2 weeks (much smaller than the pen pictured). Jumping up or running full speed could cause them to pull a suture open. But neuters do heal more quickly…[Read more]

Just brought Timothy home from his neuter, he immediately started drinking and eating hay, pellets, veggies! He’s even flopped and is currently trying to get out of the x-pen haha. So I tried calling the vet hospital to ask these questions but they’ve been busy so figured I’d also ask bunny owners who have gone through this before.– I noticed… -

I’m so glad it’s not just me who experienced this! I thought people wouldnt beleive me. What animal would rather die of thirst than drink tap water! The tap water in my part of the UK is the hardest in the UK on a map we seen and is disgusting. I’d rather go thirsty than drink it myself. My mums dog refuses to drink it and prefers to drink out of…[Read more]

Hehehe, spoilt 😉 My BF’s previous rabbit wouldn’t drink either when he moved to another part of the country. She hated the taste of the tap water here! He needed to get her bottled water as well, and slowly mixed in the tap water so she could get used to it.

I read your other topic about his neuter, he’s probably extra grumpy because he’s full of hormones and crazy puberty antics. Wick gives a really good suggestion for blocking off his view! 🙂 My boyfriend used something similar when he wanted to keep his bunny in the bedroom: he lowered the ironing board and put it across the door frame. She was a…[Read more]

Well, he’s probably upset because he’s being blocked out of part if his territory for no apparent reason (to him)! It’s probably even more frustrating because he literally sees what he can’t have access to. He seems to be reacting very naturally and how any rabbit would react to this situation. Imagine if you were told to stay within a taped…[Read more]

My bun hates being closed in. I’ve got a playpen for him now to stay in at night because he jumps on me when I sleep and because he need somewhere to be if im outside.
He wont accept it. He just got it but I know because when he freeroams the kitchen he takes the compost grid we’ve closed the room off with and tosses it away. He gets really…[Read more]

@Hazel – that’s a very legit reason! Fast molting for Oscar!
@DanaNM – that’s really cool, it does look like a church. It will be fun to see the pre and post redecorating pics!
& Ellie you crack me up! I am glad to report our mana supply has radically decreased as I think I was about to get a hairball myself!

DanaNM replied to the topic Sisters Bond Broken? in the forum BONDING 5 years, 4 months ago
It’s possible, but I think I know of more cases where the bond has been repaired than not. And sometimes the bond just kind of snaps back together suddenly, like they are like “Oh, I remember you!”
The longer separation is usually recommended if a bunny got a severe injury. If they were just pulling fur, then you are prob OK to go with…[Read more]

Yes the vet did say to feed small amounts so it seems less is more.
I’ll keep giving her small amounts. She doesnt seem to have major issues with gas and isnt bloated so it seems the amount is generally agreeing with her.
