If she is eating poops, that’s great because it means at least something is coming out. I would continue gas drops, pain meds, and gentle tummy rubs, as long as her belly doesn’t seem too painful to touch. As long as you are getting little bits of food into her regularly, that should help keep her stable. When I’m just trying to keep a bun stable…[Read more]

I agree with Wick. Rabbit puberty, especially in girl rabbits, often manifests very suddenly, like the flipping of a switch.

I’m sure he will be just fine. Bunnies don’t seem to get separation anxiety the same way dogs do. They might miss you, but as long as they are getting good care and some interaction they will be fine. ๐
You could ask your mom to send you pics to update you if you think that would help you feel better!
I would just make sure your mom knows his…[Read more]

Has the vet for sure ruled out ringworm?ย The balding around the mouth looks a lot like ringworm to me. We also had a bun at the rescue with an upper respiratory infection that lead to baldness around the mouth that looked just like that. When I’ve seen syphillis, it looks more crusty and scabby, but maybe it looked like that before and has…[Read more]

Firstly, if you’re continuing to give penicillin shots, ask for a larger gauge needle — you should not have to go through clogs, on top of the stress of giving a rabbit a shot. I had a similar scenario where it kept clogging and it was nothing I could do to prevent it because it was a vet assistant’s mistake of giving me too small needles (that I…[Read more]

This is for Theo, my ever-troublesome baby (male, neutered, 11 months old. Attempted to bond with another rabbit but currently separated bc they had a fight 3 months ago). We’ve been having issues for the past 2 months, and he’s been getting worse even through the treatment the vet prescribed so I wanted to know if anyone has experienced anything…[Read more]

They do need to be housed separately from now on, yes. No play time together at all– they’ll be fine separate. Rabbits do not really acknowledge the “family”– parents and siblings are still likely to fight and even mate with each other. It is very common that siblings will be fine to be together, but once hormones hit, which is happening for you…[Read more]

I have 2 female rabbits, they are sisters so have grown up together. Theyโre currently 7 months old. Neither are spayed. I am 15 but I do try my best to look after them. They were happy up until last night.
Before yesterday they were getting along just fine, and then all of a sudden late last night they started humping and nipping each other, a…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic Dog is very prey driven towards rabbit; any suggestions? in the forum THE LOUNGE 5 years, 3 months ago
You need to make the dog understand that the rabbit belongs to the humans and is 100% off limits for the dog. Dont punish the dog, because that can create resentment towards the rabbit.
Many dogs can have a high prey drive outside, but still be able to understand that the family rabbit or cat is not prey. Some dogs can never understand…[Read more]

I thought you would like it considering the username. 😂
Who knew we could have a squad of potatoes?! Funny enough I don’t like eating potatoes! I don’t even like french fries!

Our dog has a VERY strong prey drive. Anyone have any suggestions to have our bun and him live in at least peaceful co-existence?

With my first bun I didn’t bond him until he was nearly 3 years old I believe. I don’t think being a single bunny has much impact on bonding.
I’ve never encountered a rescue or vet discouraging bonding unless a rabbit is particularly aggressive (this was the case with one of my rabbits Monty named after the killer rabbit in Monty Python. I still…[Read more]
