They do need to be housed separately from now on, yes. No play time together at all– they’ll be fine separate. Rabbits do not really acknowledge the “family”– parents and siblings are still likely to fight and even mate with each other. It is very common that siblings will be fine to be together, but once hormones hit, which is happening for you…[Read more]

I have 2 female rabbits, they are sisters so have grown up together. They’re currently 7 months old. Neither are spayed. I am 15 but I do try my best to look after them. They were happy up until last night.
Before yesterday they were getting along just fine, and then all of a sudden late last night they started humping and nipping each other, a…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic Dog is very prey driven towards rabbit; any suggestions? in the forum THE LOUNGE 5 years, 2 months ago
You need to make the dog understand that the rabbit belongs to the humans and is 100% off limits for the dog. Dont punish the dog, because that can create resentment towards the rabbit.
Many dogs can have a high prey drive outside, but still be able to understand that the family rabbit or cat is not prey. Some dogs can never understand…[Read more]

I thought you would like it considering the username. 😂
Who knew we could have a squad of potatoes?! Funny enough I don’t like eating potatoes! I don’t even like french fries!

Our dog has a VERY strong prey drive. Anyone have any suggestions to have our bun and him live in at least peaceful co-existence?

With my first bun I didn’t bond him until he was nearly 3 years old I believe. I don’t think being a single bunny has much impact on bonding.
I’ve never encountered a rescue or vet discouraging bonding unless a rabbit is particularly aggressive (this was the case with one of my rabbits Monty named after the killer rabbit in Monty Python. I still…[Read more]

Oh no, what have all of you done! I have begun calling them potato pancakes when they lay flattened out. And I called them my mashed potatoes to their vet! 😂

I have that little cottage for my boys and I have one for my cats. It is so adorable! Both of my bunnies don’t even chew at it they just chill inside.

This works for puppies and kittens so maybe bunnies too? Couldn’t hurt.
Give your bun your pillow case, night shirt, something with your scent on it.
Again, not sure if it’ll help, but give it a shot.

Hello buns,
I have never been without my bun for more than two days. Now I have to leave for two weeks for vacation. I’ll be coming home next Sunday.
My bunny will stay home with my mum and I know she will take good care. I was with my little one all day and now she will have to be alone for first half of day as my mum works.
I think I am way…[Read more]

Thank you so much for your response, as always it’s very helpful. She has been molting a bit from her dewlap/neck area but not too much, I’ve been plucking as much as she allows it.
I’ll definitely ask the vet about getting x-rays, and looking into locally sourced hay sounds like a good idea too.
A couple hours ago I got her to eat her third servi…[Read more] -
