What kind of wood shavings did you switch to?

Does he pick at this area much? I wonder if there is something irritating there that’s causing him to overgroom or pluck the fur, or if there is something like ringworm causing fur loss.

I suggest a vet visit to get a skin scraping and see what’s going on.

Honestly my experience has been the opposite. I haven’t had great luck with small spaces personally, but I have heard of people basically confining the buns to the litter box only during bonding… I wonder if that might work with your three since the box seems to be a sticking point?
