Hi all,
Last Thursday (3rd June) we picked our 2 little bunnies from the breeder and bought them to their forever home.
They were settling in really well and we bonded with them quite fast.
On Wednesday this week at around 12:45pm, Smudge all of a sudden started lifting his paw up and looked like he was fitting, without a second guess we picked…[Read more]

Aaw, I know how terrifying it is to have your precious girl get spayed, as I was beyond “worried” when mine was! But my girl turned out fine, and I’m sure your’s will too! Best wishes to you! <3
@BZOO Ooh best of lucky to you and your Walter! So exciting that he can start bonding with Boo after!

They’ve been fully bonded for about a month and a half now. Living together for two weeks. Thankfully there has not been any stresses in the house since they’ve bonded or living together.
Ive been researching different types boredom breakers for them and have made a few already. I’m also going to try a dig/forage box for him to see if that keeps…[Read more]

BZOO started the topic Walter's neuter is in the morning in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 2 months ago
Of all the critters in my life, I’ve never had a rabbit neutered. Very stressed.
What should I expect for “average” recovery?
Should I put fleece down in the main area?
About how long to wait until I can try an official bonding session with Boo?
Any tips, tricks, hints appreciated, thanks.

How long have they been bonded? Have there been any stressful events in the house? Some bunnies do overgroom when they are stressed, so I’m wondering if that’s what’s going on.
I think a 5 ft x 10 ft cage is big enough that they should be ok in their cage. But maybe you could try giving them some extra toys to keep them busy? I wouldn’t…[Read more]

So there are not hard and fast rules on the timelines, because it varies pair to pair. I like to do cage swaps for at least a couple of weeks, or until they seem calm towards each other and don’t “freak out” when you swap sides. Ideally you will see aggressive behaviors (like running the fence, trying to “get at” each other, etc.) go away, and…[Read more]

Thank you so much! I’ll definitely look into nose guards. They look perfect! I was wondering if you had any tips about some sort of timeline, like sniff through separate cages first, and then neutral territory with food? How do you feel about stress bonding? It seems to be quite controversial. Sorry I’m asking so many questions! I just want to get…[Read more]

Beware: long story.
I have two recently bonded bunnies Michi (F 11months) and Marlow (M 11months) both fixed.
Neither groom the other but they do almost everything together. Recently, Marlow has started to barber Michis nose fur out. He doesn’t pull her fur but more nibbles it down as low as he can go like he was eating it. They skin is not…[Read more]

A bump under the skin, “above” his genitals? Yeah, those would be his testicles.
I’m looking at the photo and it does look very dramatic on the newspaper. It looks thin though. I agree with Dana’s advice. Cut back on the calcium and increase water intake. See what happens.

It’s pretty normal for unbonded rabbits to be aggressive when not in neutral territory.
You might look into getting some “nose guards” so they can sniff and see each other, but not nip each other. Here’s what I like to use:
You can use the panels to make the barrier between them. I’ve found my…[Read more]

Panacur will treat quite a few different parasites, but doesn’t treat coccidea. Usually the main med for that is ponazuril.
How is his weight? Here’s some info on coccidea from medirabbit. I don’t want to alarm you but it is a serious disease (especially in young bunnies) so just want to make sure that isn’t it before taking the “wait and see”…[Read more]

Bunnies have scent glands on either side of their genitals that can be pretty smelly, especially when they start to hit puberty (around 4-6 months of age), so that could be what you are smelling? Poops can also get pretty smelly when buns hit puberty. You can see a video about them here:…[Read more]
