Hey, I found a giant cage for my rabbits to run but it is made of PVC coated hexagonal wire mesh. It says it will hold rabbits in but I know they like to chew on stuff and will chew through standard chicken wire. Do you think this will work?? I’m looking for second opinions. The actual owner of the product says it holds rabbits and they can’t bre…[Read more]

I’m very sorry you lost her.
She was very ill. You did all you possibly could.

My boys got through the tiff. It took a couple days for them to act normal again. Well now two weeks later after everything has been great something happened and I ran down to find my son boy chasing the submissive and fur pulling. I have kept them together and been monitoring. They are def mad at each other. The submissive boy actually chased and…[Read more]

I’m so sorry for your loss. 🙁 I agree Snuggles was a very ill bunny, and you went above and beyond for her.

After a rough night, Snuggles the bunny has passed. She was a good girl, and my life won’t be the same without her. Hug your bunnies whenever you can, our time with them is never enough.

It sounds like Snuggles is very ill. I’m sorry.
I dont know if the furosemide maybe has some sort of effect even though its not enough to clear her lungs. The enro is probably enrofloxacine, a broad spectrum antibiotic. Metoclopramide is a gut motility drug that helps the stomach empty itself. And metacam is of course an anti-inflammatory painkiller.

On her current trajectory, Snuggles is going to die soon. She has no energy to move more than a few feet at a time, and when syringe feeding refuses to eat more than just a couple mL of slurry. Let some of her meds drool out this afternoon.
We have sent off fluids and blood for labwork that may not arrive until Monday. I’m inquiring about a…[Read more]

Hay is hay, as long as it’s grass hay. I wouldn’t worry about mixing varieties.

As a rule you dont have to make hay changes gradually.
Meadow hay is often a mix of various grasses. Timothy is of course timothy but there are lots more grasses that rabbits can eat.

I’ve used NIC cube grids to block off the whole area under my bed, and then put a bed skirt over the top so it looked nicer. It worked great!
But as long as there’s nothing under there that can harm her there’s not really a problem with it! If you decide to give her access, watch to be sure she’s not trying to crawl into the box spring. Not sure…[Read more]

Hey, I have 2 eight week old rabbits and I have been feeding them premium Timothy hay. I got just normal meadow Timothy hay without thinking. Do I need to mix it slowly for them to adjust or is it the same thing?? I still have some premium left but not much. I could always go buy more too. But will it really matter if I don’t slowly introduce t…[Read more]

I think it’s ok. Depending on how the bed is constructed she might feel inclined to modify the underside though. I have a bun that does that, but my bed is very sturdy and made of plain wood so I just let her.
Rabbits like being under beds and other furniture. The “roof” protects against predators, esp raptor birds.
Does your bun have access to…[Read more]

I’ll keep this short and sweet. My 4 month year old female lionsmane keeps going under the bed. I’ve removed anything under there that could hurt her. But it gives myself and my husband anxiety when we can’t see her and she’s under there. I’ve tried tape, towels, blankets, plastic. She just keeps going under my bed. Her little Houdini self just…[Read more]
