I imagine most regular air purifiers are safe to use. I don’t know about the ionic kind. We had one many years ago and it produced ozone. It actually gave me a headache. I think we sold it at a garage sale. LOL

Most hay companies store the hay for an adequate amount of time before shipping it out to sell. You should ask the company what their practices are if that information is not given on their website.

If you look at the updated at the top (added April 2, 2021), there is a group currently working on getting an American-made vaccine.

The “ideal” fur for a Netherland dwarf is a rollback coat. Length can vary somewhat (short to medium). However, this is just for showing purposes. As mentioned earlier, Nethie fur can vary a lot. Some are smoother, some are rougher. This doesn’t mean he isn’t a mix of some sort. It just means that fur type doesn’t really mean much when it comes to…[Read more]

two and half weeks in (seems much longer) And they move around together (well Milo follows louie) sleep sometimes together and I think there is grooming but I am not watching them all the time now so it is probably when they are on their own.
They now sleep unsupervised and I leave them for times during the day.  They are supervised during early…[Read more]

Hi this gives me such anxiety and I hate that we can’t get the vaccine for our buns if there haven’t been active cases in your state.

I live in NYC but am originally from CT. I remember a few years ago there was an outbreak at a vets office in nyc but for some reason this doesn’t count towards an active case in the state. Does anyone know why?…[Read more]

Thank you! This is very helpful. They are both molting right now.  There seems to be less scratching so far today so I’ll just keep an eye on her.

I would not recommend cleaning her ears, as (like with human ears) you could potentially damage the internal structures by trying. If it visually looks clear and absent of gunky, gross stuff, it may just be a strand of fur or something your rabbit is trying to sort out (especially if she is molting right now).

I would give it a few days and if…[Read more]

Although my buns are generally very clean and I change the litter tray regularly, at times (especially in hot weather) the hay and litter box can leave an odour.

I know that air fresheners generally contain harmful chemicals that aren’t safe to use around bunnies. I have in the past made natural air fresheners using essential oils. Does anyone…[Read more]

It is possible, but its not good. She should be eating at least some things by herself now. Favorite greens, fragrant herbs or some hay.

It’s not unheard of to have to syringe feed this long, but it indicates that there is an underlying problem that hasnt been adressed. Did the vet check her teeth? Rabbits are prone to molar sours, which can put…[Read more]

I’d try simeticone baby gas drops too. 1 ml every hour for 3 hours, then less often. It often helps within 30 minutes or less. Gas is painful for rabbits and very common after a bout of stasis.

We have two free roam indoor rabbits with no other animals that they are in contact with. I’ve noticed that since yesterday one of our bunnies seems to be shaking her head/ears more than she typically does, followed by scratching them (mostly the right one). I haven’t noticed any other changes out of the ordinary – eating, drinking, pooping, r…[Read more]

I recommend not allowing him on the bed. A big part of litterbox adherence is being neutered, as the hormonally-driven urge to mark territory is drastically reduced. That being said, even among spayed/neutered rabbits, the bed is a very common place for rabbits to mark. It is soft and is full of scents to mark over and claim, and rabbits love…[Read more]

    Hi everyone,

I have a five month old holland lop bunny, and I just adopted him in March. This is my first bunny (I’ve had other pets before), so I’ve been relying heavily on information from the breeder, vet and anything online.  He is not neutered yet because I was told to wait till 6 months.  I’ve been trying my best to litter train him, I h…[Read more]

I was just thinking perhaps the people working at one of these stores would know of someone (private individual) selling hay. Sometimes they will have a phone number to give out.

Might just be gas. I’d try Simethicone and see if that helps.

Your husband just doesn’t realize that some rabbits are more difficult to handle than others and yours might be one of them. I think it’s a great idea to take them a couple of times and you can watch what method works for your vet with your rabbit. You can also have them show you how far to cut so you don’t have to worry about that.
