I have been trying to find this topic without luck. One year ago my bunny got his first injection. The only side effect I saw was some lethargy and a slight dip in his appetite. Both came back very fast. Just had his booster last week. This time there was no lethargy or loss of appetite. HOWEVER, his right front paw (same side as the injection on…[Read more]

Did you build that bunny house or did you buy it?

I am a little nervous about new vaccines. The side effects are normally awful, and since they’re new, people often find out about the good and bad when they already have said vaccine. I don’t want any of this happening to my Jumping Jack. She’s too cute to be sick or die. Is there any way to get her immune without the vaccine, or any way to make…[Read more]

Hey y’all! Me again.
Cleaning Jumping Jack’s litter sucks. She always ruins her toys, so she gets bored fast. That makes it to where she finds entertainment in drinking. And peeing. Lots.
In other words, my bunny is the filthiest living thing ever when she uses the bathroom.
I think this would be better if she has better litter. Since it’s…[Read more]

I moved their cage to another spot in the room and deep cleaned everything. I had them on the dryer to try and stress them a bit in the meantime. He went back to mounting when I put them back but I decided to pick him up and move him every time he tried it and he’s calmed down. I think he got the message if he tries it he’s gonna be stopped.…[Read more]

I can just picture Fable shuffling it out of her way with a silent toot, and Wick glaring at it from where he settles 😀
Dorian has some play spaces under the cabinet thing where the TV sits and behind/under the couch, if I can block those off then the rest of his stuff (tubes, too many tubes and blankets) would be easy just to plop on the couch…[Read more]

Thanks for the post @Cinnimon&Ollie , this thread is a few months old not so I’m not sure there will be much activity on it now.
I also interpreted this as the OP intends to keep their buns inside primarily and just wanted to build an outdoor run for extra exercise, and they have been given some great tips for how to allow outdoor access safely…[Read more]

This is good info! I had looked into them a while back but ended up not getting one because I figured it would get clogged with hay. But in our new place we sweep up the hay more easily so this would prob help a lot with the fur dust-bunnies!

Haha! My pairs do this too! Sometimes the bun on the bottom starts to run and the top bun goes for a ride LOL

Oh I went through something really similar with one of my pairs with an elder male bun! We moved and he was mounting OBSESSIVELY. I had to separate them overnight because she wasn’t able to eat or rest and I was worried he was going to have a heart attack.
I would recommend having him checked out by a vet as a first step, there can be bladder…[Read more]

Things can happen in a flash in the bonding sessions, so it’s good you are being very vigilant. 🙂
I’m sure things will go just fine after your trip. 🙂

We’ve had a few threads on essential oils over the years on the forum and the consensus (backed up by vets consulted) has been that it isn’t considered safe to use oil diffusers around rabbits (or cats or dogs as well). If you use the forum search function and look for “essential oils” you will find a few threads on this.
What do you mean by…[Read more]

Yay! I’m glad Caesar doesn’t mind being combed. I also have a 9 1/2 yo elder-bun. I have her a butt clean today and noticed I should have been doing this for a while! There were some nasty clumps in there, but she HATES being held and groomed. Have you tried the Fur Buster comb? I like it because the rubber strips hold on to the loose undercoat…[Read more]

Cute, thanks for sharing!! I clicked your thread because I thought you were experiencing bunny sludge and needed help! Bunny sludge being the term used to describe bladder infections and excess calcium deposit in bunny urine!
I think I will test our your recipe today though as I have an old banana to find a use for!

Hi there! So, first off, I wouldn’t use essential oils as a first step. Bunnies shouldn’t smell so let’s have a look at some possible causes.
- What kind of enclosure/living arrangement do they have?
- What kind of litter tray are they using?
- How specifically often do you swap their litter?
- What other cleaning is going on?
- Are any of your…
