Ya sorry I probably meant 2 months. I would be leaving him in the dorm while I go to classes but many of my first term classes are online all except one. As for bonding him. I have tried to bond him with two rabbits from a shelter with help from their people who are have a lot of experience bonding rabbits. I had one rabbit staying at my place for…[Read more]

These thoughts put me at ease, thank you very much. ☺️

Is he neutered? And also to clarify, you’ve had him since he was 2 weeks old or 2 months old? 2 weeks old means you have him while he was feeding off his mother.
There is a lot to consider with bringing a rabbit to a dorm room and into your university life. It sounds like you’ll either bring him with you or leave him at home? Am I interpreting…[Read more]

I wouldn’t worry about repurchasing stuff. The likelihood that whatever bacteria caused the infection can survive on other surfaces outside a warm body is low, I feel. It is not typically recommended or even mentioned to dispose of things for respiratory infections.
I also wouldn’t worry about him hating you. I’ve given one of my rabbits loads of…[Read more]

I don’t know. I don’t feel comfortable. I’m thinking of repurchasing most of Cookie’s stuff. 😐

It was very wise of you to go to the vet when you noticed the breathing sounds! Hopefully he’ll recover now with the Bactrim.
I dont think you need to do extra cleaning of his stuff.

So I’m new here but i figure this might be the best place for some answers about my bunny. He is 2 years old and he is not bonded with any other rabbit because he is stubborn and doesn’t seem to like any other rabbits. I have had him since he was 2 weeks and I adopted him with his brother who sadly passed away from neutering complications but he…[Read more]

Cookie is now using Bactrim. Normally, there was no sound from the lungs of Cookie, yesterday, when we heard such a sound for the first time, we immediately went to the vet in 10 minutes. His eyes also seem to have improved for now. I think a few days Cookie will be better. 😐
Now he’s going to start hating me again for drugging him. 😐

🤣🤣🤣
I remember we had another BB member whose rabbit reacted with fear the first time he was given a strawberry. My bun Yohio had the same reaction to a plate with a piece of butternut squash. He backed away from the plate until he had his back against the wall, where he sat and stared in terror at the (apparently) threatening piece of…[Read more]

I’m sorry Cookie has a chest infection. Hopefully the oral antibiotics will help both the eyes and the chest.
A chest infection in a rabbit can need more than two weeks on antibiotics, but you should see improvement pretty soon. It seems you are seeing improvement. The bad breathing sounds are gone if I understand you correctly? And his eyes are…[Read more]

Hi, I was wondering if people think my rabbit’s hock could be painful for him or is this normal? He runs around fine but looks like it could be sore. The first picture is how his fur lays over normally and the second picture I moved the fur out of the way, so it’s not completely exposed typically. Thanks!

Okay got a weird one here. I realized today that Tater had never had a strawberry (he’s a banana and papaya kind of guy) so I cut him and Spud a strawberry up. Spud went to town on his strawberry. But Tater started thumping and got wide eyed every time I would come near him with the strawberry. I thought he was upset with me but I put it down…[Read more]

Hello to everyone,
Cookie got lung infection 😢😢 I want to tell the events from the beginning.
1 month ago Cookie had sterilization surgery. Cookie couldn’t clean himself because he had a cone on his head and he got an eye infection. Then he got treatment for his eye for 10 days and he got better.
10 days ago Cookie started sneezing 1-2 times a…[Read more]

Update:
Thank you all for your responses! Fortunately, my bunny, even though spayed, is surprisingly recovering very well and fast. She’s right back to eating her hay and drinking her water (which is great because force feeding really stresses both of us out), and she’s active and trying to get out of her pen lol. She doesn’t seem to be showi…[Read more]

Thank you for adopting this rabbit!
It normally takes some time to bond with a rabbit. Rabbits are not like puppy dogs, rabbits are flight animals whose instincts tell them to be seriously cautious, or else they may become someone’s dinner. What you describe sounds perfectly normal, especially since she was spayed quite recently. (A spay throws…[Read more]

Hi Mp and the beautiful people!
So I’m really slow unfortunately, but there’s small progress. They look like they really like to be near each other when there’s a fence. Dorian already made 2 windows in that fence, the big guy has a strong jaw. The strange thing is that Pi sometimes really sticks his face where Dorian bites the fence, as if on…[Read more]
