Thanks for your input, I wasn’t sure if I should take him to vet for treatment at this point. I think it’s been like that for a long time, but so hard to get a good look and a picture that I’m not sure if it’s gotten worse. I think I’ll take pics every month or so to monitor. He does have a cotton blanket where he sleeps the most, and the entire…[Read more]

If the tufts are very visible, my partner and I will lightly grab our rabbit’s with a sticky lint remover. We just graze the detached fur with it and we don’t get any of the other fur. She hates being brushed, so we do the less traumatic bits when she’s eating and then the parts we are not allowed to touch we will use the sticky paper for the tufts.

So I’ve taken her to do a trim at the groomers but I’ve been there with her and because of Covid our regular groomers is closed with no say on reopening. So I decided to take her to the vet, but it was only 3 nails they had to trim and my other rabbit is perfectly fine.
I tried 2 weeks ago and cut her quick and had to take a trip to the emergency…[Read more]

OMG this is hilarious!
Bun Jovi is most certainly NOT afraid of strawberries. Once my husband tried to give him a bite of a big one, and Bun Jovi yoinked the WHOLE thing and went running off. Then he stopped, repositioned it so it was almost entirely in his mouth, and kept running! I had to chase him down and pry it out of his mouth so he woudn’t choke!

Agree with Bam 100%!
Bed-peeing is a super common problem. The simple solution is to block access to the bed (most people put up an x-pen around the bed), because sometimes once a bun gets in the habit of peeing somewhere it’s hard to break. You might want to do that temporarily at least while her hormones settle from the spay. Another thing that…[Read more]

I do wonder if the stress of the nail trims set her off. Some buns practically go into stasis after vet visits from the stress (and I wonder how the vet is actually doing the nail trim).
Have you tried to do nail trims at home?

Hmmmm, since it’s covered with the flap of fur, this falls in the “keep an eye on it” category for me, as it’s currently a callous but does look a little red in the pic. I would try to add some softer flooring where you can (especially in areas where he tends to rest) and see if that helps. Myra is prone to getting a similar callous and her’s got…[Read more]

One of our key things is that the last time something like this happened it was also after a nail clipping. Though that time was almost fatal. 7 days in the hospital. This time I have faith, since she was taking food when I was forcing her, that she’s just in pain and once she starts eating fully again she’ll be fine. It just worries me because…[Read more]

Oooh can’t wait to see pics! He sounds so cool! I miss my betta. My most recent one was named Sparkle Pony, I gave him to a friend when I moved cross country. I kind of want to set up another planted tank, but I have been directing that energy towards house plants for the time being because we might end up moving again relatively soon.
I think it…[Read more]

Slow and steady is great. The number one ingredient for bonding is patience, so whatever seems to be working for you is great. 🙂
Do make sure they can’t actually nip each other through the fencing, those nips can start to build negative feelings towards each other.
Regarding stressing, I usually put the buns in a big plastic bin or a carrier…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic New bunny eat and drinks more than bunny in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years ago
Bunnies do vary a little. My youngest bunny Cooper eats a TON of hay. Eating lots of hay tends to make bunnies drink more water. Do you think that Cinnimon is eating enough hay and is healthy in general?

Oh my goodness! Are you sure your rabbit isn’t a dog?
I wonder if you could give her some simethicone and some critical care just to get some “good stuff” in her system?

DanaNM replied to the topic Tummy and Teeth Problems in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years ago
It’s tough, some bunnies just have misaligned teeth and need regular trimmings (and sometimes once they get even a tiny spur they will stop eating). I think every 3-6 months is a typical frequency, and it can become a little less frequent as the bun gets older and growth slows down a bit. It’s really great that she normally eats her hay well,…[Read more]

About 3 months ago we brought our rabbit to get her teeth spurs fixed. She’s been amazing and eating like a champ. We brought her on Tuesday to get her nails clipped at the vet and she was alright but then on Wednesday she very slowly ate her food, not at all like normal and then yesterday she would only eat if we forced her. So today we took her…[Read more]

Hi everyone!
Just popping on to request some good vibes sent our way for Leo today. He is our sweet, mini lop, who is just over 5 years old now. Very recently I noticed slight changes in his behavior, and a large indicator of something being wrong is that he is no longer interested in eating his pellets (usually this means that he takes them and…[Read more]

He’s smokey grey and dark red, will attempt a pic soon.
I was going to go with YinYang guppies, but they didn’t have any…and since I have 4 other Bettas, I al…[Read more]
