It’s hard to see it in the photo. Could be a papilloma.

Looking to get some more opinions. I found this weird flakey bump on Michael’s back months ago and had a vet look at it. She said it probably had something to do with the mites he had at the time, but it’s been months since the mites have been gone and I noticed the bump is still there. We had another vet look at it and she isn’t too concer…[Read more] -

Thank you for the update! I’m glad she is feeling better and acting like her old self again. I’m sure this was all quite the ordeal for her. Yes, she is 8 years old. But had she not gotten the CT scans, you would have never known about the mass on her heart anyway. She is asymptomatic, so you would have been oblivious. So enjoy your time with her…[Read more]

I’m glad to hear she’s doing better and is eating again! It isnt rare for a bun to be a bit sore in the mouth the first few days after a dental burr.
It seems very likely that she did choke on a pellet. Thank goodness she got it out! I once had to do a “bunny Heimlich” on one of my buns that choked on a pellet. It went well, but he did develop…[Read more]

Those all sound like promising updates. I agree w/ your instinct about the choking as opposed to undigested(?) CC. Hay eating is probably the number one sign of a rabbit on the mend!

Hello!
She is eating some hay regularly now, so I think she’s doing well. I tried soaking hay in water but I think she was more confused by it though did nibble on a few pieces. I think she just needed a few extra days to recover.
The regurgitation was confusing because I know rabbits can’t really vomit. I think she inhaled a pellet and then…[Read more]

Ec can cause microscopic lesions in the brain tissue. When the active infection is cleared, the body will try to heal the lesions, but scarring can form. This can interfere with nerve signalling. Hopefully it will go away with more healing time. Great that you’ve had her treated for ec! Since ec meds never completely eradicate the parasite it’s…[Read more]

Thanks for your response. Yes, she was diagnosed with e cuniculi. We gave her meds for that also after the blood work showed it. Never thought it could be from the brain like that it totally makes sense. Thanks for the clarity. Now we just still have to get her stump healed. Shes such a sweet precious soul we wish she didn’t have all these…[Read more]

I’m going to continue to update this thread as I’ve found it difficult to find others with the info I need, so in the off chance it helps somebody else:
good news and bad news. Good news is she is doing amazing, 100% back to her normal sassy self. She’s remained seizure free since her two episodes at the vet, so that’s also been great. Her nos…[Read more]

How is your bun doing now? What regurgitation are we talking about here? Actual vomit or food that was still in the mouth or esophagus when the bun was put under? Rabbits should not be fasting before surgery, but the staff should remove all food 15 minutes before the procedure, to give the rabbit time to chew and swallow properly before being…[Read more]

I dont know if I understand you right, but sounds a bit like some sort of focal seizures? Has e cuniculi been considered? It is probably the most common cause of seizures in rabbits. Any part of the brain can be affected by e cuniculi, not just the balance organs.
