Thank you for letting me know, I will for sure keep an eye on it. And they I got them from the same litter when they were babies. the smallest one thumper hasn’t been very dominant but the bigger one snowball is starting to be, I’ve only seen mounting 3 times now but I noticed it stopped since I put them in their playpen during the day. Then today…[Read more]

The vet did look at his teeth last month and said they appeared fine. Could you tell if there is something wrong with his teeth just by a visual examination or would that require something to the equivalent of an animal endoscopy (I’m not sure what the proper terminology would be)? Because he eats/chews as he always did.
Okay, by later tonight I…[Read more]

If this is a one-time occurrence, it’s not worrisome– however, if it continues to occur (you see her bottom/tail consistently wet with pee), this can be a sign of a UTI, bladder issue, or even dental issues (some rabbits dramatically increase water intake to deal with teeth pain, leading to peeing a lot more = peeing on themselves…[Read more]

Hello,
I have had my bunnies for about 3 months now. I’m new to having bunnies. They are female and not spayed yet but they have an appointment coming up.
I have been litter training them since I got them and they use it almost 100% of the time, I also change their litter boxes every 2 days. They have a seperate play area during the day but when…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Ramp height in the forum HABITATS AND TOYS 4 years, 11 months ago
You may not need a ramp at all, and typically a small platform to jump on mid-way is a lot more space-effective and rabbit-friendly. Ramps tend to be too steep and/or not covered in a texture/material that is pleasant for rabbit feet. Ramps that are gradual enough (i.e. not steep) tend to take up a lot of space because they are so long.
If…[Read more]

All those beans look consistent and healthy! Each rabbit, depending on size and hay consumption, may have a different baseline in terms of the size of the poop. Generally, we always want all rabbit poop to be dry and round, just as we see here.

Hey, after the sad passing of my boy *suspected blood clot/heart attack along with stasis* im anxious about every little thing, im a total anxious Annie. I read that poop should be the same size/consistency. Is this with every rabbit, so every poop should be the same with every rabbit or can it vary. We currently have just bonded out female with…[Read more]

I am making a ramp for my bunnies new cage and don’t know the way to go. I could make it 14 inches high but I think that would interfere with them when they are running around the cage. The other thing I could do is 28 inches high but I don’t know if that would be safe?

You dont have to give motility meds for a full 5 day course like you should with antibiotics, but it’d really be best if you could ask your vet over the phone. I had a bun who was prescribed metoclopramide as needed, but his tummy problems were not the same as your bun’s.
As Dana says, gut motility meds should be given together with pain meds…[Read more]

I also agree with Bam that having a good look at his teeth would be a good next step, since this has recurred without an obvious trigger. At around 6 years old bunnies bone density tends to shift a little, so they can have some misalignments in their teeth, even if they don’t have a history of dental problems. In those cases often they just need a…[Read more]

Ok that all makes sense and is helpful info!
If he is feeling better I don’t think you need to do the full 5 days of medicine. It’s very possible that since you gave it right away it didn’t take as much time to work.
