Considering his age, I agree with Wick’s suggestion. It was probably a scab from a previous injury.

These poops don’t look bad. As you are saying yourself, its great if you can get buns to eat lots of hay. Color of poop will often vary between types of hay. Rabbits that get fresh greens and grass tend to have darker poop than rabbits that mainly eat hay and a limited amount of pellets.

But he’s always had quite a lot of this kind of dark and misshaped poops. Apparently due to not eating enough hay.

The one I ordered wasn’t cuttable to the size I need like I thought it was. I want green colored carpet/carpet tiles because it would go with the theme of the cage.

Thanks. I know that my rabbits would love getting out. I was just worried about the mesh. One of my bunnies, cinnimon, chewed though mesh on her carrier when she was a baby. She has been spayed and stopped chewing lots now so I am not sure.

You can pick fresh grass, clover, and dandelions, as long as it hasn’t been sprayed

We love getting updates, especially if you’re the OP! Slower is always a safe pace to start with. I am not as familiar with your situation as Dana, but you can always go faster as you see signs, but it’s tough to go slower when an already-adopted fast pace has caused some negative interactions, making the bonding potentially more difficult.

It may have been a past injury that scabbed off. Perhaps your rabbit was kept with others prior to you getting Buddy and he had an injury as a result. As your vet mentioned, it looks like something to monitor as the tip seems pretty well healed with no immediate worrying signs.

My minilop, Buddy, is 11 weeks old. We noticed a few days ago that he had a crusty lump at the tip of his ear that was on both sides. When grooming he started to nibble at it and this morning he has bitten it out of his ear leaving a missing chunk! Has anyone else had this and know the cause? The vet has said to just keep an eye on him but he…[Read more]

You loved her to the moon and back, you gave her the best of care… nothing is your fault.  Unfortunately, no matter how hard we try, crap happens.

She is free now and she loves you, always know that.
