Yes, pelleted pine bedding can be used as litter for rabbits. I use wood stove pellets, which are made from spruce and pine.
Its pine and cedar shavings you should avoid.
I mix the wood pellets with paper litter, but you can use wood pellets only.

You should have pretty good luck with those I think.

I guess I don’t really buy too much hay at once because I feel like it goes stale. I get the bagged Oxbow kind. Are you buying bagged hay? A bale?

Yep that one’s good! I’ve used it and it works well! I’ve used several brands of pine stall pellets and they all seem pretty comparable.

Hi everyone!
My ladies’ litter has been getting very…. Smelly, lately, to the drastic point where I’ve decided we need a change.
I remember reading somewhere that there’s a type of pellet litter that’s supposed to be very absorbant and have less of an odor? I was browsing through the store, and found this bag of litter, though I wasn’t sure if…[Read more]

I saw a tutorial at some point on making your own from cardboard boxes. It looks a little time consuming, but if you have more time than money it might be worth it!

I agree with Wick&Fable! I think side swaps will help. Do be sure they can’t nip noses through the fence, because that can increase hard feelings.

After watching my ladies flop and groom each other, I have come to the conclusion that I am indeed crazy to consider adopting another bun. Sigh. He is awfully cute… But I don’t think I could deal with the stress of a newcomer right now.
Thank you all for your responses!

Hello,
I was wondering how much hay you all buy for your bunnies for the winter.
I have 2 female bunnies, they are both about 5 months and weight 2.5 pounds. I was wondering if anyone knew how much hay I would need to buy them for the winter.

Number 1 looks more low pile and low pile is always better for avid chewers! 🙂

Rabbits can act very differently through a pen wall vs. when having real access to each other. As the owner of the space, some might interpret Rodders being by the pen as a dominant, rude move, expressing “Ha, this is my space. You can’t get here. I own this and am so relaxed.” … If possible, I’d encourage swapping Rodder and Lily’s space every…[Read more]

It is money consuming to buy toys that don’t last long, but that also means they are ‘good’ toys for redirecting your rabbits energy! I regularly purchase cat scratchers for my Fable since she spends most her energy on destroying them.

Hi all
I have read many of the posts which have all been helpful. I’m now looking at help with the next step in bonding these two. I’ve filled the bonding template below.

Spay/Neuter
Are your bunnies spayed/neutered? Yes
If so, for how long (for each)? Rodders has been neutered 4 months. Lily 2 months.
Housing
Please describe your bu…[Read more]
