Thank you for the tips!! Hopefully I won’t have to do a bath and the washcloth will work but thank you for letting me know how to do one if it comes to it!

If you were up for it (and have an assistant to drive), you can even take them to and from the vet in the same carrier. Since they have to go through the stress of the drive anyway, you may as well use it to your advantage 😉

I’m guessing since they aren’t fighting in the pen. they won’t fight in the car. It could be give them the little nudge they need!

Even if he isn’t cleaning himself, usually they don’t get pee all over themselves unless they sit in a puddle or are having some incontenence issues. Do you know what the cause of the head tilt was? I ask because urinary symtoms and head tilt can be caused by E cuniculi. Does he seem to be having issues with making it to his litter box or leaking…[Read more]

I cant hear any sound except the sound when your bun jumps down onto the floor.

A bunny “tooth purr” is a clicking sound. It can be very soft, sometimes it’s easier to feel the purr with your fingers on the bun’s head rather than hear it. Buns often tooth purr when you pet them, or, especially in young rabbits, when they are very relaxed and…[Read more]

Poor baby! When cleaning a rabbit you want to do the least invasive and least traumatic thing possible so your idea to try a washcloth first is a good idea. If that doesn’t work, you absolutely don’t want to do a full bath. You can do a butt bath if necessary which is still traumatic in my experience, but better than getting fly strike or another…[Read more]

As the title suggests my rabbit has pee all on his feet and bum and I just wanted to know the best way to clean it all off, he recently went in for surgery about a week and a half ago to help resolve his head tilt which I believe is why he hasn’t been cleaning himself as much. I was thinking I could try and clean it with a warm washcloth?

My rabbits have orchard grass hay 24/7. Thanks for the website. It’s good to hear that timothy in pellets shouldn’t cause any problems because my mother is really allergic to it.

Thought on sharing this very moment as a memory for me and also everyone else as a short story haha. Well it was 2 days ago when i was in bed, sleeping and woke up panicking and groggy at the same time as i accidentally rolled on his paw (he’s fine). A moment later as I was about to head back to bed again i saw him sprawling next to me to sleep…[Read more]

A variety, try ’em all.  Your bun may find a fave or will love something different every few days.  I usually have three different types open at one time.

When stored properly, hay can last a long time (a year)  and not become “stale”.     Even the bales you get from other retailers is hay that was already harvested in the summer and then sold all year until the next harvest. The benefits of buying in smaller portions though is it separates the hay and most hay bags have little holes in them to all…[Read more]
