Still so young! But that’s good, because a younger bun is stronger.
Bonded buns do miss each other when one is sick. The only thing we can do is to try and keep the bun at home company, maybe distract with a few extra treats?

How does her belly feel? Are the insides of her ears cold?
If her belly seems distended/hard, its not advisable to try and syringe feed her, because it could be a blockage.
If the insides of her ears feel vold, you should try to warm her. You can use a warm water bottle or a microwaved sock filled with rice (heat it with a glas of water to…[Read more]

Sorry to make so many posts lately but Blossom needs healing vibes and prayers. Today I found blood in her enclosure and she’s barely eating, it took her literal hours to eat all her pellets and she’s not really touching her hay much and she’s doing more sleeping than normal today. She has a vet appointment on Monday, that’s the closest day that…[Read more]

Thank you
He will be 3 years old on Monday. His brother is really missing him 😞

Oh poor baby! I’m glad you took him in!
There’s very little we can do at home for a blockage. The bun needs IV- or at least sub q fluids, because food or drink via the oral route will only make matters worse. The bun will also need substantial pain relief and, often, warming up.
Fingers very much crossed for Bear.

Update on Bear
i took him to the vets yesterday and he has a blockage. He will be there all weekend.
the vet called me this morning and said that he has improved 25% which is on track. The vet said he has pooped but still not eating. They are going to try to force feed him to see if that works.
the vet is going to call me tomorrow afternoon. -

Hello All,
I have possibly the weirdest scenario a bun could have in relation to ear infections. I’ll fast forward thru the beginning, but basically my holland lop Louie had inner ear infections on both ears and so he went thru the journey of having surgery on both ears. On his left he had a TECA-BO (total ear canal ablation and bulla osteotomy)…[Read more]

Bonding un-fixed siblings is not an option — you need to separate them. If you’re living with family members, talk with them and brainstorm solutions, which can also include rehoming one or both rabbits if you are not in a position to care for them properly.

They need to be separated. If they are brother and sister, they will have babies unless separated. If they are the same sex, they will fight. Both girl siblings and boy siblings will fight, but the situation as a rule gets worse if they’re bucks. Bucks can fight to the death. They will eventually hurt each other. Bucks will go for each others’ man…[Read more]

I read your post in Bramble’s thread, and yes, it sounds like March madness. An intact rabbit will be more affected than a desexed rabbit. It’s of course not possible to say how long it will last, but say a month more? The pace of the change in daylight hours is slower the closer we are to the solstices. The most rapid change happens around the…[Read more]

HareIvoryWhiskers made a post about her bun Bramble and I’m having the same issues with Thumper; he’s chewing the bars on his x-pen almost non-stop, not using his litterbox (which he is usually excellent at), digging and chewing his fleece blanket (to the point where I have to pull it to it’s original position and I’ll find holes and wet spots),…[Read more]

I have two sibling bunnies that have started to fight. i have no way to separate them or get rid on them. what should i do? i also can’t afford to get them spayed and they are not old enough yet either. They eat together and cuddle but just randomly fight.

Bam replied to the topic not going pee in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 1 year, 9 months ago
Sometimes a bun wont pee if its in pain. I assume you did get pain meds for her though, since she was kept over night.
Its a bit weird that she hasnt peed at all, but it’s not so weird that she hasn’t drunk – vets as a rule give fluids, sub q or iv. It sounds very good that she has eaten and pooped. How does she seem otherwise? Is she moving…[Read more]
