He’s not doing great, hopefully can get hubby to take him in tomorrow.

I’m going to be in the minority here.

If he’s an only bun, I would not.

Just got my male neutered, in hopes to bond with my spayed female.  He isn’t doing well.  I’m am stressed and beating myself up, he’s probably going back to vet tomorrow.

This is the first time I’ve altered a bun, female came spayed, and the stress is immense!

You adopted them as babies? If they are still growing, then I would say they are probably a medium-large breed mixes. Maybe Havana or New Zealand is in there somewhere. One of them has the harlequin pattern. Harlequin is a breed as well… but the genes for the harlequin pattern have been introduced into many breeds, so you can’t go off of coloring alone.

The white one is 4.5 pounds and the black and white one is 3.5 pounds. I adopted them both about 5 months ago.

Thank you so much for the response.  It is comforting knowing this is normal, takes the worry away.  I have a first vet appointment coming up in November and could not wait that long to find out the answer.  Thank you again.

How big are they?

Well, I suppose. But that is more invasive. I know my vet doesn’t do it that way. Do some vets prefer that method for some reason?

They are only two years old, so arthritis would be unlikely I think. That’s a really interesting thought about the balance. I am pretty sure that they are 100% deaf. They don’t react to any sound at all (even clapping hands behind them or the fire alarm). Vet just said yes its common for them to have hearing problems, but didn’t look further into…[Read more]
