Thank you guys so much for the suggestions! I really like the cardboard egg carton suggestion especially.

I was so excited when we actually got a phone book in the mail. Can’t believe they don’t care about it at all. I’ve also discovered that they’re chewing the wooden frame around the door, so the sooner I can find something that’ll work, the b…[Read more]

If it’s just for a day, your rabbits should be fine!

You are setting her up to be as good as she possibly can be by having a vet see her ASAP. Unfortunately, as much as I wish we could say everything will be all right, we are not vets and cannot diagnose online. But again, taking her to the vet is the best course of action.

It is a great sign that she is eating and drinking though.

My bunny, Molly, is 3 and unspayed (i know its bad I didn’t realize how important it was until recently) and i have noticed red or bloody urine for a few weeks now. I called the vet when it first started and the receptionist said it was normal and i stupidly believed her. Its been a few weeks of on and off bloody urine and today i noticed a lot of…[Read more]

If you have a rabbit experience vet near you they can cut their nails his nails for you. I took my bun when she was little to my vet ( she was very wiggly ) and it cost 5 dollars. Light is your best friend if you are doing it from home with black nails. It helps you see the nail better and where to cut

Okay thanks will do. Can’t do the grass though because even though we don’t use chemicals everyone else around us does so I don’t want to risk it incase some blew over to our yard.

If you have pesticide-free grass in your yard, you can give them fresh grass.

You can increase and split the daily pellet and veggie portion over the course of the day into at least 3 feedings to make sure that they are still eating throughout the day. If you have a yard with grass, you can also harvest fresh grass to feed your rabbit until you can obtain more hay (do not feed if there is pesticide spray on your grass).

Also I want to add that I can’t get anymore right now. And if you know something else I can do please say so. Thanks so much in advance.

Well now I have bedding but no hay. Some is ordered but is coming tomorrow ( don’t know when). It seems a lot better to run out of bedding than hay now although I think it is. I am giving them fresh water, pellets, and veggies like I do every night. Should I give more veggies or I also have this herb mix thing that I can sprinkle on there pellets??

    Hi guys

I’ve posted about this before but they dont look like they’re getting any better. Sesame is a mini rex. Ever since he’s gotten them (3 months ago?!) they’ve always been cracked… it doesn’t really bother him but today they bl3d again and it seems to bother me more than him but it still has to be somewhat pa1nful for him so if there’s…[Read more]

    That’s great!

I will also say that nothing like the threat of being syringe fed to get a bunny to eat LOL. Half the time I think they hear me getting the stuff out and are like “OK FINE I’ll eat!”

HRS hasn’t mentioned an outbreak in Michigan where I’m located and since the farm rabbits don’t display symptoms nor have I seen any dead rabbits when I’ve visited, I doubt it would be an issue. But I’ve been taking extreme precautions anyway since the outbreaks in the western states started (no shoes in the house, no visiting animals, thorough…[Read more]

That’s so hard, you were already doing the only thing I’m aware of to prevent it!

    Again I’m so sorry. 🙁

Thank you all for the kind words; they mean a lot.

@DanaNM I feed/fed both of my bunnies by scattering it on the floor since they are/were both greedy eaters…it was definitely sudden and tragic. I know it’s hard to prevent, but there is always that shred of guilt because we wish we could do something different!

I am so sorry for your loss, this is so heartbreaking. 🙁 A friend at the rescue had one of her bunnies choke on a piece of lettuce, but they didn’t even find that out until autopsy. Unfortunately these things happen, just like in humans.

If you’re concerned about preventing in the future, I know some members scatter feed their bunnies to slow…[Read more]
