Guar gum is a soluble fiber. I doubt its harmful for buns in the quantities wee discussing here. That something “has been linked to” doesnt necessarily mean there is any form of causality. In humans, a sudden intake of substantial amounts of guar gum (commonly used as a thickening agent in lots of foods like icecream) can have GI side effects such…[Read more]

Morning.
After much discussions with the husband (me talking and talking and talking till I lost) we’ve decided that it would be unfair to move all of them in and out everyday. (Plus if we go on holiday who’s going to do that for us, think I’m getting a holiday out of this lol) he suggested that why don’t I train the new baby to come out the ave…[Read more] -

Hi, I was on Instagram earlier, and I saw a story saying that you should bin All Oxbow treats because they have Guar Gum. So I was just wondering whether Guar Gum was actually harmful/bad for rabbits.
Thank you so much xx

Thank you very much! I hope the best for your girl too. There’s no much we can do about it now, except to wait. I will be bringing her to the vet around the 10-12 day mark.

Hello Everyone,
Today one of my two bunnies of six years passed away. Me and my wife got them at together from breeder and they were born the same time and have had each other for their entire life. They were both female rabbits.
I am going through a lot and wanted to know if someone could provide advice for me on things I need to keep in mind…[Read more]

Update, we are over 9 hours hanging out together in the living room (semi neutral), and they mostly slept. It’s probably the most the ever slept in a session, so I take that as positive. They cuddled some but mostly slept separate. When awake they ate near each other mostly, and did lots of hops, mini zoomies and binkies. No more issues since hour…[Read more]

In my opinion, she could possibly not be pregnant. Larger rabbits go into heat later, but 4mo. is the age things like that can happen. My bun Carrotina went into heat at 4mo., but she is under 3lb., and like I said, rabbits her size are prone to sometimes being able to make families sooner. I hope she is not…. but she very well could be. 🙁 I…[Read more]

I checked him, and it doesn’t really seem like he has anything yet. Can bucks hump without having grown it? I will talk to my parents and vet about them. Previously, my vet said that we need to wait until 6 months before spaying since she’s still a baby. I read that it takes 10-12 days to start feeling babies inside their stomach. Can th…[Read more]

So, if you intend to bond the baby with the parents, once that’s done it wouldn’t be good to separate them for the most part. I’ve actually been thinking about this question in reverse for myself, because in one of my pairs (Cooper and Bonnie), I know that Cooper would love to have some time in an outdoor run, and he doesn’t mind being picked up.…[Read more]

Have the male’s testicles dropped? At 4 months, she technically could be spayed (and yes could have gotten pregnant). The best thing is to talk to your vet about what happened. They can determine if she got pregnant and do an emergency spay.
