Rabbits often prefer stationary things to chew. You could try to make a wooden chew toy that is heavy enough or affixed to something so it can’t move. It could mimic a baseboard. For the actual baseboards, some people will cover them with cardboard. It isn’t attractive, but it keeps the baseboards from being completely destroyed.
Some bunnies…[Read more]

As long as no chemicals have been used, the damaged leaves are not harmful. I imagine you already wash everything before feeding. Washing would remove and larva, etc. on the leaves. Accidental ingestion of a larva or two isn’t harmful though either.

I agree. Considering the new bunny corresponds with the loss of litter box habits, it seems very possible that this is territorial in nature. If when bonded, bunnies can have poop and pee wars… even one-sided wars.

Hey y’all
My 6(?) year old spayed Dutch (female) is being an absolute menace in our new apartment. Some behaviors are consistent with what she would do in the old place but they’re even more prevalent now.
She’s being aggressive towards us at times (especially my husband, she seems to have learned she’ll just get pushed away repeatedly by…[Read more]

Yes, there is hope for an 8 years old to recover. EC often manufests in buns that are older. The infection can happen when the bun is very young, then the body’s own immune defense is strong enough to keep the symptoms at bay for many years. As we age our immune defense gets weaker, and opportunists like e c will grab their chance when they see…[Read more]

That’s great to hear 🙂 I’ve done the 24h bonding now and wanted to give a small update. He had some stress poop when they were in the pen. They did lay apart most of the time on different sides of the pen. She laid down next to him once. They ate together. She bit the bars a few times over this period (I thought mainly unneutered/unspayed buns do…[Read more]

I have a little garden planted with a bunch of vegetables for my bun, and today I noticed that some of the leaves are damaged and after some researching it looks like it’s from a pest called leafminers. I picked off all the damaged leaves but I’m sure there are still more of the bugs on the plants. Will it harm my rabbit to keep feeding her the…[Read more]

If its both poop and pee its not consitent with a UTI or ec. That is of course good.
I dont believe she is misbehaving or lazy though. Rabbits do things for “reasons” -often instinctive or hormonal (not just sex hormone-hormonal, there are many hormones aka signal substances). This sounds more like some kind of territorial marking. Is Charlie…[Read more]

I have had my rabbit, Luna, for 5 years now (she is a rescue and is estimated to be about 7 years old). She was pretty good about using her litterbox until about 8-9 months ago, when she started peeing outside of the litterbox (not just once in a while)–including on the floor and on the couch. We had her checked for UTIs and bladder…[Read more]

Albendazole doesn’t pass through the blood-brain barrier very well. The preferred drug for EC is fenbendazole. If you’re not seeing improvement with the Albendazole, then I would suggest talking to your vet about that.

I dont have a great tip for this, one of my rabbits loved them but the other not so much. I think at one point I did try mixing them in with some recovery food that he liked, you could also try mixing them in a little pumpkin puree or mashed banana?

If you have already tried a gradual change to the new pellets, you may need to try different brands.
My vet gave me various brand samples as my bun was having issues not eating pellets. In the end, it took her over a year and half to start eating pellets and now she’s addicted.
