Yes, she is not happy about the collar. I got another appointment for tomorrow from a different clinic.
Thank you so much!

It’s great that she’s eating and pooping!
She might become very cross with you for having to wear a paper collar, but it is necessary that she cant hurt herself more, and she mustnt lick off the neosporin. It’s not toxic or anything, but it needs to stay on the sore to have effect.

They cant exactly break their ears, but they can hurt the muscles that keep them upright. I had a bun that got a droopy ear after a fight with another bun. It took like a week for it to come up again. There was no visible damage to the ear.

I’m currently fostering 4 baby bunnies (and their mamma bunny) they are 2 months old and brothers, today I saw that one of them has a floppy ear, they are not Lops, and was wondering if their ears could break? He doesn’t seem to be able to keep it up and it flops around when he walks, other than that he seems fine, still eating and playing, they…[Read more]

It could be wise to give her a water bottle as well as a bowl, if she cant keep the water from the bowl in her mouth long enough to swallow it.
Water leakage like this could mean she cant close her mouth properly. It doesnt sound like true drooling, more like she just csnt hold water in her mouth so it leaks out.
Is the leakage from both sides…[Read more]

I haven’t personally, but I think in most cases, if you have a rabbit who is easily pleased by different toys and treats, the subscription boxes are a popular choice for monthly engagement! They can also be nice for a couple months to learn about what your rabbit likes vs. dislikes.

Was thinking of giving it a try…
Thoughts on your experience with it, and how the bunnies like it.
Thanks!

Yes she is eating and pooping the same. I just bought Neosporin. That is the soonest day I can get for the appt, but I can call again to get a prescription for Meloxicam. Thank you so much for answering! Means so much!

Here we are, a week in and no chat thread yet!
Thought I’d start things off on a positive. Luna’s weight has been poor since her E.c last year, she hovers in the 1900 grams range. It’s been over a year since she weighed over 2kg. Last month I started her on Burgess Excel pellets, instead of Oxbow. I picked the Burgess because it has double the…[Read more]

So I was wrong. The drooling continues, but something is weird. She only drools when she’s drinking water, it’s like she drinks but the water goes down her chin. I haven’t changed the water bowl and I’m calling her vet now. But I don’t think she will know what to do because if she was really drooling she would be doing that when eating and sitting…[Read more]

If she keeps hurting herself, you can make an e-collar out of a paper saucer. You tape it shut with fear ex electrical tape so she cant remove it herself. Buy a whole pack so you can exchange daily after wound care. She should get some time without the collar on every day, but under strict supervision so you can stop her if she starts to…[Read more]

Such a tiny amount couldnt contain so much honey that it’d pose a problem. Fingers crossed she keeps improving!
If the drooling was due to aspiration of food, it could lead to aspiration pneumonia. This can be difficult to detect for the rabbit caretaker, so it’d be good if your vet could see your rabbit again in a couple of weeks and listen to…[Read more]
