The problem is they are not neutered. In my experience with young male un-neutered bunnies is that once they reach a certain age they become aggressive once there hormones kick in. It will calm down after a while. You may have a issue trying to find a vet to neuter your bunny if you live in the UK.
I find its much easier to bond does than…[Read more]

Bunny Breeding… I know its a subject that is frowned upon. I have noticed there are many many breeders on Pets4Homes too many in fact. I wonder if they have a hard time selling there bunnies because I’m sat here scratching my head wondering why people breed bunnies when there are so many of them widely available and not many people want rabbits.…[Read more]

Dehydration can make bunny pee dark. Sometimes they tip their bowl over, or it gets very warm and the bun forgets to drink. If your bun gets fresh greens, you could serve them freshly rinsed and dripping wet for a while, just so you know he gets enough water in him.
The dark color can also in part be from oxidation taking place after the bun has…[Read more]

Hi, for my bunny I went to the vet when this happened and my vet told me that my poor little bun bun was dehydrated. I then had to monitor the intake of water and had to make sure the urine changed back to a safe color within a week. But bunny should be fine if they get a more water. If not I would go see someone.

It’s a great idea on the pellets by the way. I’ll look into those. I’ve been feeding her the same pellets for 3 years they are called Sweet Meadow Farm all timothy pellets. She hasn’t had any switch in diet that’s coincided with this. Sometimes this problem isn’t there at all and I don’t notice the urine smell for weeks/months.
One thing that…[Read more]

I’ve always assumed the ceco preparation and follow-up posture has to do with what is comfortable for the rabbit as their GI finishes ejecting out the cecotrope. Cecotropes are fermented in their body and then come out from the same place as their normal poo, so presumably there is some sort of internal trigger that they may be reacting to and…[Read more]

Thanks guys. I have not had COVID. After unfortunately dealing with this on and off for two years, I finally managed to get an MRI and meet an ENT who specializes in smell and taste disorders. I was exposed to some wildfires a couple of years ago and it appears to have caused some damage to my nasal lining, and trigger some inflammatory response.…[Read more]

The other bunny is as good as gold. I’m…[Read more]

Its quite correct that pine shavings shouldnt be used for rabbit! Pine wood stove pellets are however kiln dried so the phenols and other compounds are very much reduced ( they go off as vapours during the hear-treatment).

I’ve heard of using untreated would stove pellets for them and I might try that, however i’m not sure I feel comfortable using pine shavings for them. I’ve read alot of articles saying they aren’t safe for rabbits. You may want to reconsider not using them for your buns.

Bunston used to tunnel inside my box spring (he wasn’t allowed in my bedroom but if someone accidentally left the door open he would go straight in). Once my roommate was pet-sitting and had to scoop him out with the broom!

Just to make sure she’s not drinking an extreme amount, how much would you say she drinks per day?

Awww thats so cute! Rabbits are so mischievous!
Where do I start with bunny moments lol. Recently we’ve been ordering from hay box and instead of eating out of his hay racks and bowls my bun has found where we store the big box of hay and has chewed a hole through the box and now tunnels inside to eat hay!
One of my bridge buns used to make an…[Read more]

Yes, I agree with others and LBJ10… I once was worried about dark brown urine and ended up seeing my bun wee a light yellow which I thought was odd so I waited a little while before cleaning it up and it indeed turned bown! So it was definitely an oxidation/evaporation thing…. I even had the vet send off his urine to the labs for testing…[Read more]
