Rabbits are curious and like to explore, but they will only explore from a spot where they feel safe and secure. It’s good to arrange several safe spots around the area that the bun has access too.

Safe spots can be an upside-down csrdboard box with two doorholes, a tunnel (crinkly or plastic or cardboard), a low table or a chair. Rabbits feel…[Read more]

Please don’t be hard on yourself. I don’t think you need to be concerned. EveryBun has a different personality. My oldest bun, we’ve been together for over 10 years and he still won’t let me pet him unless forced, held in arms, and he obviously doesn’t like. He shows his love through tons of nose bumps. I’ve had 7 or so rescue buns throughout the…[Read more]

This is a bit long so sorry in advance, but I’ve had two big concerns about my bun for a while and I don’t know how to handle them as a first time bunny mom….

I’ve had my bunny Henry for almost a year now and he’s very sweet but still very timid. I was hoping that after a while he would get more comfortable around me and he has to some extent.…[Read more]

Also doing what you can to make the ground most interesting, such as putting toys and such around, can keep them more grounded!

Thank you 😀 !! I will try placing more sheets on the floor with one of her hideouts for her to feel more comfortable and definitely try encourage movement with pellets as she will go wherever her food is which is how i got her to move around the living room lol

I have a bun who can be extremely timid. In order for him to go anywhere new, I would have to pick him up and take him. Once there, he’ll feel confident there and going there on his own. So, I had to literally take him to every room. He has friends so if his friends go to a new area, he will follow too. Left to his own accord in a new place, he…[Read more]

if you just leave the door open, I’m sure that your bun will go into the kitchen when she gets more confident/comfortable

I honestly dont think you need to worry one bit about this. She will explore the house given time.

Baby buns (your bun is still very young) will leave their home burrow little by little. European rabbits (the species our house buns belong to, oryctolagos cuniculi) are born underground, and spend their first 8 weeks in close contact with their…[Read more]

Hi, this is my first post here and only joined just to ask this lol.

I have a 12 week old bunny, who i’ve had since she was 8 weeks. She has a room to herself where she was constantly kept the first 2 weeks I got her. This room leads to the kitchen which i’ve tried leading her to with treats but she doesn’t want to step a single foot on the floor…[Read more]

Thank you! I’ll definitely look into those. I do currently give her the oxbow joint supposed she loves those. The Luma Soothe sounds interesting and I’ll look into it for sure.

    Bunnies will be bunnies 🙂

Only way is to block access to the things she is jumping on that you are concerned about. Tall x-pens are useful for this.

If your dogs are also free-roaming, then I would not recommend unsupervised free-roam for your bunny. It would likely be very stressful for your rabbit and too much potential for injury. If you want her to free-roam unsupervised, I recommend setting aside an area where the dogs never go and that she cannot escape from (such as a bunny-proofed…[Read more]

I give my buns the Oxbow joint support treats and they seem to help a bit. Sherwood also makes one, but my buns don’t like it as much. I’ve also tried Myristol with good results in my large bun, Bertha, when she was having some age-related mobility issues. With her my vet really wanted her on the lean side to ease the strain on her joints.

    You…[Read more]

Sounds like a plan. It’s gonna take some work to find out which ones are safe for her and which ones work. There are so few things designed for pet rabbits it’s tough. Hopefully we can find something out that helps her long term along with the Meloxicam.

hi, i have been thinking about letting my bun have free range of the house, but i have a few concerns:

-We have 2 dogs, and i’d worry about them harming her. We have baby gates, but they still might be able to hurt/scare her.

-Our house is fairly large, and there would be many places for my bun to hide

I would really appreciate any help/advice…[Read more]

There are various joint-supplements and antioxidants like curcumin, but meloxican remains the best anti-inflammatory for rabbits. You might be able to experimentally work out a working combo of otc supplements plus a low dose of meloxicam (and possibly gabapentin for flare-ups), but which individual that responds well to what is very much about…[Read more]
