Thank you both! You gave me the nudge I needed to call and at least seriously look into it further. It’s helpful to have an idea of the cost going in. I wasn’t sure if I was allowed to use the company’s name on here, but the rabbit rescue that told me that also said Nationwide was the only one. I’m glad that helped get you and your sweet bun connected!

No, no, and no. If you feel the need to get high is more important than your pets safety, eat some edibles and stay far away from all animals.
High people do stupid things! They called it dope for a reason.

Oh! I have just the recommendation 🙂 There are these small mesh storage cube grids that are perfect for this. I was so excited when I found them I wrote about them here:

In general, legumes are not toxic to rabbits. They can, however, be fattening. So eating some as a treat shouldn’t be harmful. You will find a lot of things containing legumes (beans, peas, etc.). So I wouldn’t be too concerned about those ingredients if the product is intended to be a treat.
As Bam pointed out though. If you used these treats to…[Read more]

Great! Mites cause the skin to become uneven and thick.
Could it be just molting?

So I’m looking to buy some marijuana but I am trying to make sure that it’s OK for my bunny before I do it. I don’t wanna do it if he’s going to be in danger from doing it. Is it OK to smoke weed around bunnies? I just wanna make sure that it’s OK. He has his own room in the house and I won’t be smoking in there but I just want to make sure.
Than…[Read more]

So reassuring!! thank you
Update: Bubba had more bad poops and continuous soft stool, he finally had some regular ones this morning but these mud pies on his butt are getting out of hand. Still being gaslit by the receptionists by saying “it’s not the antibiotic” then…. why did this all start immediately after starting the antibiotic?…[Read more]

Will do! The spaces between the bars of the pens are fairly large, and the girl has snapped at the baby before. Is there a good mesh on amazon or something that would help with that? We would put the cages a few inches apart, but they are connected by something we can’t undo…

The skin looks good though. If you feel the hairless area, does it feel smooth or is it “bumpy”?

<p style=”padding-left: 40px;”>Science Selective is generally considered high quality. Their Natural range is better than most commercially available rabbit treats, which doesnt say much. They are still treats, and should be fed sparingly. Locust beans are common in animal feed, they’re often a component in rabbit muesli. (Rabbit muesli should of…[Read more]

Hi all, I am at lost for this new brand (for me) rabbit treats that I’m eyeing. It’s called Selective Naturals and almost all of it contains ground dried locust beans, ground peas and soya oil….are they safe for rabbits? I read green beans are okay occasionally, but I’m afraid any bean in general seems a bit toxic. I wanted to make a cute little…[Read more]

Orbifloxacin is known for causing GI upset in dogs. I don’t know how or if that would present itself in a rabbit. I suppose it could cause problems with cecal development. But… any antibiotic can potentially cause GI problems in rabbits simply by killing off good bacteria and upsetting the balance of gut flora.
I agree with the others. Baytril…[Read more]

Agree, you can start doing pre-bonding now though if you want! That means side-by-side pens/cages and swap which bun is on which side every day or two (keep the litter boxes a bit dirty when you do this). 🙂

I notice in the picture he is drinking from a bottle which usually is good for keeping the chin dry, but do you notice if his chin gets wet at all after drinking?

did your vet have an answer to this? My bunny is experiencing something similar but we’ve ruled out all the normal options

Thanks I’ll have his ears rechecked, last time they said his ears were fine, would that also explain his chin getting pus?
on ring worms yea I’ve done the swab culture and pcr and both came back negative unfortunately seems like a dead end there

They had been on hay only up until recently, when they’d been back to the vet.
As said above, he suggested they have selective science 4+ (even though they’d had this before but he’d not heard of it at the time). So I am still feeding them this at the moment but as I thought it had made no difference to their poop.
