It’s ok and thanks for the recommendation. Is it the fluffy type bedding or is it the pellet shaped litter they came out with out of curiosity?

I agree with Bam, and your assessment of your mom was probably correct too. Everyone deals with grief in different ways, and anger and blaming are a common phase of grief. I do think that the vet did their best and honestly it sounds like most vets would have done the same. When a bun is stable and recovering, it would have been unusual for them…[Read more]

I think its fine too. Back in my uni days I used to do just this! My buns would travel every xmas and summer for a vacay. We did this for two years, 3 hour drive. To be honest with the exception of the car journey they loved it because our families house was much nicer for them to play in than out little uni house and then coming back they would…[Read more]

I know Oxbow stores the hay for the required amount of time, so their products should be free of RHDV. I don’t know about Standlee, I see no statement on their website. I assume they probably take precautions since they are marketing to rabbits. Perhaps you could contact them directly?

I love the Standlee hay. It’s grown here in Idaho so is typically super fresh.
Cost is awesome!!
We get the Timothy and Orchard grass for Piggies and buns, various types for the goats.
Be sure to smell it before you leave the store. I did end up with one musty box.

Due to forum rules, we do not permit users posting links to vendors. That being said, Dally has provided you the name “Carefresh” as the brand so you can search for it yourself on vendor sites. Carefresh can be available in different varieties, but it will all be the same brand. I would avoid their colored and scented versions and just go with the…[Read more]

Thanks! I will look into getting emeraid. I will ask vet about the sub q fluids too. I also want to get a stethoscope as trying to hear their heart and digestion helps and is awkward just laying my ear against them. I wish they weren’t both such delicate little fluffs. At least this time it was isolated, sometimes if one gets it the other will a day later.

I don’t think alfalfa pellets are necessary. A little alfalfa hay probably isn’t a bad thing or even some rolled oats. Older bunnies often need help keeping their weight up. If your bunny isn’t having that problem though, I would be hesitant making any drastic changes.

I looked at their website. As far as the analysis goes, it looks like it would be OK. Timothy is the first ingredient, but wheat is the second. Oxbow Garden Select has “better” ingredients.
