I agree. Your best bet will be to use ultra absorbent materials to keep her dry. Dana had a pretty good setup figured out for her bunny.

Azithromyacin is known to cause decreased appetite. I don’t know if it’s stomach pain necessarily… more like nausea, or whatever the equivalent feeling would be for a rabbit. This antibiotic is used to treat pneumonia and stubborn URIs. I had a bunny that was on azithromyacin multiple times. From his reaction to it, I would say it did not taste…[Read more]

This is very difficult and you do need to discuss it with your vet. Perhaps ask if Pepcid (famotidibe) could be given to help with the stomach pain? Or if you could give antibiotics as injections, so they dont have to pass through the stomach.
Since we’re not vets here we cant really recommend you on what to do. Do you think he still…[Read more]

(sorry for the pronoun shift—we found out Merlin was a she after five years so we haven’t switched except in medical situations and it’s tough haha)

Hey everyone, Merlin was diagnosed in June with pretty severe pneumonia and a possible thymoma, treated with baytril and an injection of dexamethasone. He was on baytr…[Read more] -

I also echo Sheepette flooring, as it will get the urine away quickly so it has as little contact with the rabbit as possible. It is washable and you can buy larger surfaces of it, so it would be a good investment.

I’m very sorry you are dealing with this, urine scald is something that can be hard to get under control once it starts.
I had good luck using sheepette medical faux shearling on top of pee pads (I used washable ones) with my disabled senior. The sheepette wicks the pee away so the bun doesn’t contact it. I recommend covering her entire area in…[Read more]

Howdy. Our 7 year old bun got a back injury 2 years ago that has caused her to struggle with her back legs. Since February, she’s also be suffering with constant urine scalding. we had taken her to the vet because she was dragging her back legs. She has pain meds for the scalding, but the vet said to just keep bathing the soiled area clean and c…[Read more]

I’m in the same place right now. I lost my beautiful little Netherland dwarf Oliver. He was the sweetest rabbit. He would follow me around my room, sit on my lap all the time, watch movies with me, and even play cards (he would toss them around). He was my first rabbit. He passed of stasis from an unknown cause, it happened very fast, in only 1…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic Spay Clinic in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 1 year ago
If the humane society clinic regularly does rabbits and they are recommended by the local HRS, then I think it’s worth looking into. Just because they are low cost does not mean they are not competent.

So great they’re back together again and that the litterbox issues has improved. When I bonded my buns they did the wild rabbit courtship-thing too. “Danced” around each other and jumped over each other, high up in the air, just like on Nat Geographic or sth 😄 It was amazing to see and they bonded very well.
Some buns are prone to GI issues, and…[Read more]

Zoomies and binkies and she lets you hold her 🥰 Wonderful news!
Baby animals can sleep a lot, as long as she’s eating and pooping and peeing like she should, it doesn’t seem worrisome. The mum having settled in must make the baby feel very safe and secure!

Hey everyone! I’m getting my female rabbit spayed, and when her baby is old enough, I will be getting her spayed as well. I was wondering if anyone has experience with low-cost spay clinics. Would it be a bad idea to go to one. I found a humane society clinic through the Ohio House Rabbit Society. I’m still in high school and I don’t want to ask…[Read more]

She is doing so much better now. I think I was just a little overwhelmed and stressed. I am definitely glad I got her, and I can take care of her very well. But, I think I was so upset because I’m still grieving Ollie. He was very out going and social and her biting me made me realize how much I missed him. She lets me hold her now, and she…[Read more]

He stopped once him and Miu were rebonded and he could go in the spot the litter was originally. Then again, I didn’t rebond them until he was off pain meds, so it could have been mainy things. He also had peptid or something for ulcers. Poops are still an issue, but mostly because I have been giving him hay in areas he usually wouldn’t get it t…[Read more]

Sorry @Bam, didn’t see your comment. I did have to rebond after his surgery, why I was worried. Luckily they did a lot of chasing and leaping, but no fighting. They were grooming each other and flopping near each other at same time, so I think it was some bunny thing I wasn’t quite privy to. It felt more like some mating ritual I see the wild b…[Read more]

Is this something you had delivered? I imagine it is fine, but if you’re worried then I would report the damaged package and ask for a new one.
